Packaging and method of opening

A crack-propagation line is separate from a seal joining two shells of a confectionery packaging. The confectionery packaging is opened by separating the packaging along the crack-propagation line such that a portion of at least one of the parts of the confectionery packaging is broken to form an opening through which the packaged confectionery can be removed. Consequently, there is provided a method of forming a confectionery packaging and a method of packaging a confectionery product wherein two shells of a confectionery packaging are sealed together and a crack-propagation line is formed in a portion of at least one of the parts of the confectionery packaging. Suitably, the crack-propagation line extends away from the seal joining the two parts. The confectionery packaging is opened by separating at least one of the parts of the confectionery packaging, leaving the seal substantially unaffected. The additional step of forming a separate crack-propagation line rather than intending the confectionery packaging to be opened by separating the two parts through the seal provides improved opening characteristics.

Animal feed covers and systems and methods for their production and use

Methods of covering an animal feed product involve depositing in an open end of a container an animal feed. Placing a cover on an exposed surface of the feed at the open end of the container, where the cover includes a flowable coating arranged on one side of a flexible film and a rigid or semi-rigid layer bound to an opposite side of the film. The exposed surface of the feed comprises irregular surface structures due to feed components positioned at the exposed surface. A central portion of the flexible film of the placed cover conforms to the irregular surface structures at the exposed surface of the feed upon the flowable coating reaching a temperature of at least about 125 F.

Container-handling apparatus

A container-handling apparatus, in particular a closing machine for closing cans or similar containers with a closure cap. A transfer element is provided between at least two adjacent container-closing positions. The transfer element surrounds at least part of the circumference of the respective container carrier and is provided so as to rotate with, i.e., revolve with, the container-closing positions. Furthermore, the upper side of the transfer element forms a transfer plane for transferring the upright containers in a planar manner from the transport plane onto the transfer plane spanned by the transfer element. The transfer plane and the transport plane are coplanar, spanning a common plane.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE FORCE-CONTROLLED CLOSURE OF PHARMACEUTICAL CONTAINERS

The invention relates to a device (10) for closing pharmaceutical containers (12) by means of closures (14).

Container for a spraying device

Fluid liners and container assemblies for a spraying apparatus and related methods of use are provided. The disclosed liners include a side wall defining a fluid-containing portion and an open end, a flange extending outwardly from the side wall, and a latching member coupled to the flange, where the latching member includes a retaining feature for releasably coupling the side wall to a lid compatible with the liner. Disclosed fluid containers include a lid having a fluid outlet adapted to couple the lid to the spraying apparatus and a collapsible liner, where either the liner or lid comprises a latch that releasably couples the liner and the lid to each other. Advantageously, the fluid liners and fluid containers can provide enhanced storage options for container contents between spraying operations.

REUSABLE PLASTIC CONTAINER AND METHOD FOR REPROCESSING

A cup-shaped reusable plastic container has an open end which has a sealing edge with a sealing surface, the sealing surface being configured such that the sealing surface is connectable with a first sealing foil. The container jacket has a wall thickness from 0.5 mm to 4.0 mm. The sealing edge has a sealing edge thickness which extends in the axial direction of the longitudinal axis, and the sealing edge thickness is from 0.8 mm and 4.0 mm. The sealing surface is configured such that the sealing surface can be connected to a further sealing foil after removal of the first sealing foil from the sealing surface of the sealing edge, and following cleaning of the reusable plastic container. Also, a method reprocesses a cup-shaped reusable plastic container.

SEALING SYSTEM FOR FOOD APPLICATIONS

A sealing system for food applications that provides a housing element with two or more bolts and respective holes for clamping. A flanged element is clamped to a frame of a machine, and a rubber seal placed along the base perimeter of the housing element. The seal includes a first portion of the rubber profile placed in the areas distant from the holes and a second portion of the rubber profile adjacent to the holes. The rubber profile of the second portion has a larger cross section than that of the first portion, such that the deformations of the rubber profile are made virtually uniform to prevent the formation of fractures, and therefore of bacteria traps, in the rubber.

Coffee pod point of sale fabrication device

A point of sale coffee pod dispensing device for use with shell less, expandable coffee pods. The compressible pods are arranged in a linear array that allows for pleated or stacked storage in a pod loading means within the device's enclosure, as well as continuous feed capabilities. The pod advancing means moves the pods from a pod loading station to the pod delivery station, there between sequentially passing through stations for pod expanding, coffee filling, and sealing. An operating system allows input of signals for the operation of the device based on tactile input from a control panel on the device's housing that determines the parameters of the coffee pods to be fabricated.

20190322396 · 2019-10-24 · ·

The present disclosure relates to an attachment unit for attaching a container element to a container body. The attachment unit comprises a retaining device adapted to retain the container body while the container element is being attached to the container body and an applicator for positioning the container element in the container body. The retaining device comprises at least one through-going positioning cavity being adapted to receive a portion of the container body. The applicator is aligned with the positioning cavity, such that the container element is displaceable by means of the applicator into the container body by moving at least partly through the positioning cavity of the retaining device. The attachment unit comprises an internal housing arranged to provide and maintain a protective gas atmosphere above the positioning cavity of the retaining device. The internal housing is adapted to at least partly enclose the applicator.

Container construction for powdered material

A packaging is disclosed for a powdered material comprising a tub for receiving the material, the tub having a base and a peripheral wall with a top edge; an outer sleeve around at least the peripheral wall of the tub, thereby supporting the tub; a removable membrane for separating the powdered material in the tub from the environment; and a lid assembly comprising a peripheral rim for connection over the top edge of the peripheral wall of the tub and defining a wide access opening and a lid, hingedly attached to the rim for reclosing the access opening.

Furthermore, a method of manufacturing a package for a powdered material is disclosed, comprising sliding the tub in the sleeve, such that at least the peripheral wall of the tub is enclosed by the sleeve, whereby the sleeve supports the tub and the tub and sleeve form a container for the powdered material.
