Blister assembly
A blister assembly comprises at least one collapsible blister adapted, as it is collapsed, to eject a liquid contained therein. The blister assembly comprises a first layer (130) having at least one blister chamber (150) and a second layer (131) sealed to the first layer at least around a periphery of the at least one blister chamber such that a liquid is contained between the first layer and the second layer. The seal between the first and second layers comprises a first planar portion having a first peel strength and a second planar portion having a second peel strength, wherein the first peel strength is greater than the second peel strength, such that when pressure is applied to the blister, the second portion of the seal breaks to release the liquid contained within the chamber into the liquid inlet. The blister assembly further comprises at least one discontinuity (142) formed in the first and second layers in the region of the first portion of the seal, such that a shear force is required to delaminate the first and second layers in that region.
Device and method for producing plump packages filled with liquid or pasty filling material
The disclosure relates to a device and a method for producing packages, in particular sachets, filled with liquid or pasty filling material, in particular with liquid or pasty food, with a co-extrusion device for co-extruding a strand made of curable casing material filled with the filling material, wherein the co-extrusion device comprises a filling tube for ejecting the filling material as well an extrusion nozzle being associated with the filling tube and having an extrusion gap for ejecting the casing material, the filling tube protrudes over the extrusion gap over a distance X such that the casing material is extruded through the extrusion gap onto the filling tube and can solidify along the filling tube. The protruding filling tube there expands at least in sections in the direction of the outlet opening and stretches the extruded casing to create a plump package.
Beverage pad and apparatus for making beverage pads
An apparatus for making a beverage pad having an amount of extractable or soluble beverage preparation product as a compacted puck enclosed between two sheets of filtering material comprises dosing means arranged for supply of a dose of extractable or soluble beverage preparation product to a puck forming device of the apparatus and further comprises a packaging device arranged to package a compacted puck received from the puck forming device between two sheets of filtering material to form the beverage pad. The puck forming device comprises a cylindrical rotating drum with an outer side surface having recesses for receiving in each recess a dose of extractable or soluble beverage preparation product. A bottom wall of each recess is formed by a movable piston arranged to move with respect to the outer side surface of the drum to vary a height of the recess in relation to an angular position of the recess on the circular circumference of the drum. The puck forming device further comprises a compression body adjacent to the rotating drum arranged to provide a counter surface to compress a dose of extractable or soluble beverage preparation product against. The compression body comprises drive means arranged to drive the counter surface moving along a circumferential part of the outer side surface of the rotating drum with a velocity corresponding to a velocity of the outer side surface of the rotating drum.
PARYLENE CAPPING LAYER FOR EMBEDDED LIQUID PACKAGING
A variety of applications can include parylene capping layer for embedded liquid packaging. A capping structure for liquid packaging can include a conformal parylene capping layer on and contacting a liquid in a recessed cavity of a substrate such that the parylene prevents the liquid from leaking out of the cavity, embedding the liquid in the cavity of the substrate. The selections of substrate, liquid, or type of parylene can be based on the application for which the liquid packaging is implemented.
Dosing apparatus, a machine for producing single-dose capsules and relative dosing method
A dosing apparatus for dosing powdered substances for producing single-dose capsules, having at least one compartment in which at least one powdered substance is present, including a forming unit having one or more molds movable in an advancement direction, and a dosing unit including at least one dosing plate having one or more chambers, in each of which a quantity of at least one of the powdered substances can be inserted, to be subsequently transferred from at least one of the chambers to a respective mold.
PACKAGING SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING POUCHES COMPRISING A WATER-SOLUBLE FOIL AND A POWDER
Packaging system (1) for producing pouches comprising a water-soluble foil (3) and a powder, wherein the packaging system comprises multiple moulds (5) and a mould conveyor (8), wherein the moulds (5) are moved along a foil supplying device (50), a compartment forming device (12), a powder filling device (13), and wherein the powder filling device (13) comprises a powder supply (14) and a powder distribution unit (15).
Doser assemblies, apparatuses including a doser assembly, and/or methods of making the same
In an example embodiment, a doser assembly includes a hopper assembly configured to receive plant material, a bracket assembly connected to the hopper assembly, and a roller in a hopper opening defined by the hopper assembly extending through the hopper assembly. An interior surface of the hopper assembly may define the hopper opening. The bracket assembly may include a shaft extending across a portion of the hopper opening. The roller may be in the portion of the hopper opening of the hopper assembly and may extend between a first part and a second part of the interior surface of the hopper assembly.
