Opening apparatus and method for opening gusseted tube fed from tube supply in folded state
An opening apparatus for a gusseted tube which is fed in from a tube supply for the purpose of the later transfer to a device. The opening apparatus has at least two suction cheek arranged on each of two sides of the gusseted tube. Each suction cheek is arranged on one side of the gusseted tube and has a contact region which interacts with the gusseted tube and has a suction region with a protective device which lets an air flow through. The two suction cheeks lie opposite one another to be moved apart in a direction orthogonally with respect to the folded-together gusseted tube. An opening apparatus has both side cheeks of a pair arranged such that they can be moved along the outer face of the gusseted tube away from the other pair of suction cheeks to the outside.

The present invention concerns a device and method for reefing a portion of tubular film, the reefing device having at least one reefing finger and at least one drive unit. The drive unit has advancing means, which, for reefing the portion of tubular film, is brought into operative connection with the reefing finger at least at the height of a point of engagement, while enclosing the portion of tubular film, and moves the portion of tubular film in relation to the reefing finger. The device according to the invention and the method according to the invention are distinguished in particular in that the position of the at least one point of engagement can be changed along the reefing finger as reefing progresses or the position of the point of engagement on the reefing finger is changed.

A spreading unit for a container sleeving device, configured to spread open flattened tubular foil material to form a sleeve, to bring the sleeve in a target tubular shape and to discharge the sleeve towards the container, the spreading unit including a mandrel including: an upstream mandrel element for spreading open the flattened tubular foil material having a substantially constant cross-section in axial direction; a downstream mandrel element having a non-constant cross-section in axial direction; an intermediate mandrel element positioned between the upstream and downstream mandrel elements; wherein the downstream mandrel element comprises flaring sides and tapering sides and the intermediate mandrel element is recessed relative to the upstream mandrel element to allow the upstream part of a sleeve to move radially inward when the downstream part of the sleeve moves along the flaring sides of the downstream mandrel element.

BAGGING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF BAGGING
There is disclosed bagging apparatus (20) for bagging a pre-form (12) for a composite component on a tool (10), the apparatus (20) comprising: a bag dispenser (22) having a store (28) for a tubular vacuum bag (30); and a bag guide (36). In use, a length of tubular vacuum bag material (30) can be drawn from the store (28) radially outwardly over the bag guide (36) and over the tool (10) to form a tube around the pre-form. There is also disclosed a method of bagging a pre-form (12) for a composite component on a tool using the bagging apparatus (20).
