High-speed container filling with reduced cross-contamination and method of use thereof
A medical dispensing system with dispensing and pathway components, each of which of a plurality of dispensers and pathways, respectively. The dispensing and pathway components are controlled to minimize contamination between the items being dispensed. Both the dispensing and pathway components have arcs around which the dispensers and pathways are arranged.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FILLING AND SEALING POUCHES
An adjustable pouch machine comprises a vertical sealer module forms transverse seals between two plies of a pouch web to partially define a plurality of pouches. Rollers selectively tension and relax the web on the vertically oriented wheel, allowing them to drop away from heated lands on emergency and cycle stops. A filler wheel has a plurality of adjustable gripper units mounted directly thereon for transporting independent separate pouches cut from the pouch web. An adjustable knife is selectively provided with changeable knife hub sets to handle a variety of pouch sizes where a filler wheel alternately first fills and seals pouches in a train. Gear linkage accommodates variation in distance between hubs of different sets. Various embodiments, apparatus and methods are described.

Rotary Filling Machine
A rotary filling machine for filling containers with bridgeable dry materials includes a turret supporting a plurality of circumferentially spaced drop buckets and a plurality of funnel assemblies located under the drop buckets. A stationary slide plate is located vertically between the funnel assemblies and the drop buckets. The slide plate is configured such that flow paths from the bottoms of the drop buckets to the inlet openings of the funnel assemblies increase progressively in at least a portion of a circumferential extent of the slide plate. Drop buckets are located above the slide plate and rotate with the turret. Each drop bucket is provided with one or more partitions that hinder the “snow-plowing of particles” along the edge of the associated fill opening in the machine’s fill plate rather than the sweeping of those particles into the fill opening.
Upper stabilizing tray for filling cartridges and related method
A stabilizing upper tray for stabilizing cartridges during automated filling operations includes fill ports matching cartridge support locations in a lower support tray. Each fill port includes a bore, a circular recess to engage the upper rim of a cartridge, and an inwardly tapered needle-engaging surface adapted to be engaged by a fluid injection needle; a counterbore extends between the bore and the circular recess. As the upper tray is lowered over the cartridges, the enlarged recess of each fill port engages a corresponding cartridge and guides it into a vertical orientation within the counterbore. During filling operations, a mis-aligned fluid injection needle engages the inwardly tapered needle-engaging surface of the stabilizing upper tray and is guided through the fill port toward the cartridge. A method is also disclosed to form such a stabilizing upper tray through conversion of a conventional lower support tray.
Apparatus and method for processing open-mouth bags
Apparatus and method for processing open-mouth bags comprising a handling device for exchanging open-mouth bags with a rotary packaging machine. The handling device comprises a rotating device that circulates around a rotation axis of the handling device and is provided with two gripping arms for gripping the open-mouth bags. The two gripping arms are disposed for separate, longitudinal movement transverse to the rotation axis of the rotating device to enable longitudinal movement of the gripping arms relative to the rotating device in addition to the circulating motion around the handling device.

Folded package
The technology described herein generally relates to particular form of folded package. The package packages loose particles into a conical container and secures the filling with a folded distal end. More specifically, loose plant matter, such as crumbled dried leaves, are supplied as filling and the package may further be provided with a fluid core.
