The invention relates to a method for determining at least one state variable of the organism of at least one farm animal, wherein at least one probe device for measurement of at least one physical parameter is disposed in the gastro-intestinal tract of the farm animal and at least one evaluation unit is disposed outside the gastro-intestinal tract of the farm animal, characterized by the following steps: determining at least one first physical parameter by the probe device; converting the first physical parameter into a first state variable of the organism of the farm animal in a probe control unit of the probe device; transmitting the first state variable by the probe device to the evaluation unit; andconverting the first state variable into a second state variable in the evaluation unit. The invention further relates to a probe device for measuring at least one state variable of the organism of a farm animal as well as a system comprising at least one such probe device and an evaluation unit.

ANIMAL MOTION AND TEMPERATURE MONITORING

A computer system and method for identifying and monitoring animals in a confined space. A tracking apparatus is provided in proximity to the confined space that defines a plurality of separate individual tracking regions for the confined space. Each of a plurality of animals to be disposed in the confined space is associated respectively with a detection component operable to identify and detect a temperature of an animal it is associated with when detected by the tracking apparatus. Data is received in a computer monitor system from a detection component when detected by the tracking apparatus in the confined space wherein the received data includes motion and temperature data relating to an animal when located in the confined space. The tracking apparatus detects multiple animals simultaneously located in an individual tracking region. Utilizing the received data associated with an animal in the confined space, an animal's motion and temperature data is correlated to an individual tracking region an animal is located within.

CASING FOR LIVESTOCK SENSOR AND LIVESTOCK SENSOR

A housing for a livestock sensor, the housing including: a resin having a coefficient of kinetic friction of 0.40 or lower and a coefficient of static friction of 0.10 or lower, and the resin being other than polytetrafluoroethylene. Also disclosed is a livestock sensor including the housing and a detector inside the housing.

The present invention relates to methods, systems, and devices that emit light energy in the ruminant rumenoreticulum, to inactivate a quantity of microbes. The device is a size or shape that will obtain a predetermined position within the rumenoreticulum, and protectively contains long lasting battery power, electric components, and light sources that emit wavelengths that inactivate and destroy microbes. The device, the system and the method according to the present invention also allow detection of biological parameters of the capsule environment and communication with a receiver outside the animal.

Implantable passive RFID tag

An improved passive RFID tag configured for needle implantation in a tail of a rodent using a small diameter needle provides for increased read distances and effectiveness. In various embodiments, the RFID tag is comprised of an elongated flexible substrate having a pair of opposed surfaces with a UHF RFID chip positioned on a first of the opposed surfaces and is directly electrically connected to a closed-loop multi-layer folded dipole antenna disposed on both of the opposed surfaces of the substrate. An antenna is electrically connected to the RFID chip and includes at least an inductor as part of the closed-loop antenna. In embodiments, the RFID tag can be read with at least 90 percent effectiveness by a 30 dB RFID tag reader at least 5 cm from a tail of the rodent.

Marking and injection remote delivery device

A remote delivery device is provided which has media portholes in a sidewall, a tail piece attached to a rear end and a cannula attached to a front end. The body contains a plunger assembly which defines an injectable liquid chamber and a marking media chamber. The plunger assembly includes a front barbell plunger, rear barbell plunger and a plunger shaft with an O-Ring seated between the front and rear of said plunger shaft. The body also contains a single internal charge positioned behind the plunger assembly. When the charge is activated, the plunger assembly is thrust forwardly and dispenses an injectable liquid from the injectable liquid chamber through the cannula. Simultaneously, the plunger assembly also dispenses a marking media from the marking media chamber through marking media portholes. The provision of a single internal charge allows for a reduction in the length and weight of the device. The single internal charge provides evidence of successful injection of the injectable liquid when the media is displaced from the marking media chamber.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ANIMAL MOTION DETECTION

A system and method for identifying and monitoring passage of a plurality of animals in a passageway. The system includes a computer monitoring device having a processor and memory, and a detection device, communicatively coupled to the computer monitoring device. The detection device is positioned in proximity to an animal passageway. The detection device includes an antenna element configured to detect identification data from a respective detection component respectively associated with each of the plurality animals when located in close proximity to the passageway. The detected identification data includes a unique ID associated with the animal wherein each detection component consists of a capsule device configured to be located internal of an animal. The computer monitoring device is configured to receive the detected identification data of an animal from the detection device so as to record in a database the detected animal's unique ID in correlation with a date/time stamp of the animal's detected close proximity to the passageway.

ANIMAL MOTION AND TEMPERATURE MONITORING

A computer system and method for identifying and monitoring animals in a confined space. A tracking apparatus is provided having a plurality of antenna arrays in proximity to a confined space. One or more animals to be disposed in the confined space are associated with a detection component operable to identify and detect a core body temperature of an animal it is associated with when detected by the tracking apparatus. Data is received in a computer monitor system from a detection component when detected by the tracking apparatus in the confined space. The received data identifies an animal in correlation with its motion and temperature data. Real-time position and core body temperature of a detected animal is determined while the animal is disposed in the confined space by analysis of the received data in the computer monitor system.
