A system and method are provided for packaging and sterilizing analyte sensors. The packaging system provides a structure for securing the analyte sensors in a fixed position and fixed orientation within the package.

Apparatus and method for packaging a product

An apparatus can be used for packaging a product. The apparatus includes a frame, a conveyor, and a packaging station. The packaging station receives a support at a respective positioning seat, receives a portion of a film above the support so that, between the support and the film portion, a reception volume is defined, and sealingly constrains the film portion to the support. The packaging station comprises a penetrating tool having a first through opening and a second through opening. The penetrating tool is arranged in an advanced position in which a part of the tool crosses the support arranged in the positioning seat, accessing the reception volume. At the advanced position, the first through opening is arranged at least partly in the reception volume, beyond the base wall or beyond the lateral wall and the second through opening is arranged astride the base wall or the lateral wall.

APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR AUTHENTICATING, GRADING, AND ENCAPSULATING COLLECTIBLES
20220012446 · 2022-01-13 ·

A computer system generates information describing authenticity and a grade of a collectible scanned by a scanning device. A feature vector is extracted from the information. The feature vector includes a first set of features and a second set of features. The first set of features is matched to authenticity profiles of collectible items. Each authenticity profile characterizes at least one collectible item across multiple features. A confidence score is generated with respect to the authenticity of the collectible based on the authenticity profiles. The second set of features is matched to grade profiles of the collectible items. A grade score describing the grade of the collectible is generated based on the grade profiles. The grade of the collectible is determined based on the grade score. A graphical representation of the grade and the confidence score is transmitted to a display device.

Surgical instrument including a control module for assessing an end effector

A surgical instrument for use with a robotic system that has a control unit and a shaft portion that includes an electrically conductive elongated member that is attached to a portion of the robotic system. The elongated member is configured to transmit control motions from the robotic system to an end effector.

Methods of conditioning sheet bioprosthetic tissue

Methods for the conditioning of bioprosthetic material employ bovine pericardial membrane. A laser directed at the fibrous surface of the membrane and moved relative thereto reduces the thickness of the membrane to a specific uniform thickness and smoothes the surface. The wavelength, power and pulse rate of the laser are selected which will smooth the fibrous surface as well as ablate the surface to the appropriate thickness. Alternatively, a dermatome is used to remove a layer of material from the fibrous surface of the membrane. Thinning may also employ compression. Stepwise compression with cross-linking to stabilize the membrane is used to avoid damaging the membrane through inelastic compression. Rather, the membrane is bound in the elastic compressed state through addition cross-linking. The foregoing several thinning techniques may be employed together to achieve strong thin membranes.

Surgical instrument including a motor control system

A surgical instrument comprising an end effector, a staple firing drive, and a motor control system is disclosed. The end effector includes a replaceable unspent staple cartridge comprising staples. The staple firing drive comprises an electric motor circuit including an electric motor. The staple firing drive further comprises a firing member movable through a firing stroke by the electric motor. The firing member comprises a tissue cutting knife. The staples are deployable from the staple cartridge based on movement of the firing member through the firing stroke. The motor control system comprises a current sensor and a position sensor. The motor control system is configured to change the operation of the electric motor based on an input from the current sensor.
