A LABELLING APPARATUS
A labelling apparatus for labelling a tray while the tray is conveyed by a conveyor means. A label feeder device is configured to place a label onto a top surface of the tray. A first tucker device is arranged sidewise to the conveyor means and includes an applicator block. A first moving mechanism is configured to move the applicator block in a back and forth direction perpendicular to the conveying direction of the tray. The applicator block is movable from an initial position to a labelling position where the applicator block presses the portion of the label exceeding a side surface of the tray such that the applicator block follows the shape of the side surface of the tray via a rotational movement of the applicator block around the rotation axis.

In some embodiments, an RFID label rejecting system includes an imager for scanning an RFID label, and a label removal component for discarding an inoperable RFID label. The label removal component may include a paddle configured to receive the inoperable label as part of the removal process. The label removal component may include a retraction system configured to position the paddle in an ejection path of the label rejection system to receive a rejected label. The label removal component may include a removable liner on the paddle configured to receive the rejected label and to be discarded with the rejected label. The label removal component may include a pressurized gas system configured for ejecting a rejected label.

At least a portion of the first marker and at least a portion of the second marker are identical to each other in position in the widthwise direction. At least a portion of one of the first marker and the second marker and at least a portion of another of the first marker and the second marker are different from each other in position in the lengthwise direction.

There is described a method of increasing the output of a transfer film (1) upon embossing, in particular hot embossing, wherein the transfer film (1) has a carrier film (1a) and a transfer layer portion (1b) which is releasable from the carrier film (1a). During a first embossing operation first regions (10) of the transfer layer portion (1b) which are arranged removed from each other at a spacing a are transferred by means of a first embossing tool from the transfer film (1) onto at least one substrate (2), wherein first openings (10a) are produced at the spacing a in the transfer layer portion (1b) of the transfer film (1). After the first embossing operation the transfer film (1) is wound up after the first embossing operation and fed to at least a further embossing operation.

A controller of a label creating apparatus obtains label information corresponding to a shape of a label to be created. When the controller does not obtain a first detection signal but obtains a second detection signal, the controller determines, based on the second detection signal and the label information, whether the label having a first shape related to the obtained label information is creatable from a pair of one first portion and one second portion. When the controller obtains the first detection signal, the controller controls a conveyor and a cutter to cut the pair of the one first portion and the one second portion, at a cutting position related to the label information, based on the first detection signal regardless of the second detection signal obtained after obtainment of the first detection signal.
