A pulley system for enabling an object attached to a line to pass around a rotating pulley at least partially enclosed by a housing, without causing the object to encounter interference from the housing structure as the object passages through. An inward beveled edge of the housing structure may act to guide the line into the pulley groove. An object passthrough window for allowing the object to pass around the pulley while the pulley is rotating, without encumbrance of the object, may comprise a substantially solid, or continuous, inner surface formed of the inward beveled edge and the pulley groove. An exemplary use of the pulley system is in drive or transfer pulleys, or both, in systems utilizing pulley arrangements: for example, in systems such as lure coursing systems that continuously loop a line having a lure attached, for the enjoyment of domesticated animals.

A self-exercise device that provides resistance to tugging, and is operable to intermittently change the resistance so as to mimic an actual tug-of-war game. The device includes ball gallery and ratchet structures that cooperate to provide additional intermittent resistance to provide action to the device that mimics an actual tug-of-war experience wherein the opposing resistance is randomly changing.

A wall-mounted scratch post assembly for cats includes a mounting plate affixed to a vertical surface, the mounting plate including a wall-facing surface mounted against the vertical surface, a post-facing surface facing away from the vertical surface, a first attachment mechanism affixing the mounting plate to the vertical surface, and a second attachment mechanism attached to the post-facing surface. A method of using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to guide a target includes receiving sensor data from one or more sensors of the UAV, detecting a behavior or an action of the target based on the received sensor data, and initiating a feedback to the target in response to the detected behavior or action for guiding the target while the UAV is in flight. The feedback includes at least one of an audio stimulus, a visual stimulus, an olfactory stimulus, or an attractor.
