This invention relates to a container comprising and outer shell and an inner lining, to a method of construction of such a container and to components used in the construction of such a container. A container comprises an outer shell made from a first material comprising paperboard, and an inner lining made from a second material comprising a polymeric or metallic material, the lining defining an internal volume for holding a liquid, and the lining being adhered to the shell, wherein, the outer shell includes a line of weakness extending around at least part of the periphery of the shell and defining a first portion of the shell on one side of said line and a second portion of the shell on the other side of said line, the line of weakness permitting the first portion of the shell to be separated from the second portion of the shell, and wherein, the lining is adhered to the shell in said first portion and the lining extends into to said second portion of the shell.

Reconfigurable carton and package

A carton for holding a product in a liner. The carton includes a plurality of panels extending at least partially around an interior of the carton, the plurality of panels including a front panel, at least one rear panel, and at least one side panel. At least one end flap is foldably connected to a respective panel of the plurality of panels. The at least one side panel includes at least one expansion feature for transitioning the carton between a first configuration and a second configuration. The at least one expansion feature is foldably connected to the front panel and the at least one rear panel.

A composite thermoplastic liner for use as a moisture barrier comprises a hollow tubular body made from a woven composite thermoplastic material configured to substantially block the ingress of moisture; and an opening at one end of the hollow tubular body for intake into the hollow of the hollow tubular body. In one aspect a welded closed opposite end forms a base configured to substantially block the ingress of moisture external to the hollow tubular body. In another aspect the woven composite thermoplastic material comprises an electrically conductive additive. In another aspect there is a gusset in at least one side of the hollow tubular body. The hollow tubular body is able to be flattened with the respective gussets formed from folds of the hollow tubular body, such that in the flattened state the tube is more readily stored in a narrow form, but is expandable when the gusset is unfolded.

Container for use with transportable materials

A container such as a Regular Slotted Carton (RSC) with side handles provides an improved alternative to other containers for packing, storing, stacking, displaying, handling and shipping a dense, free-flowing material such as granular clay. An integrated handle places the load of carrying the container over the full width of the hand and fingers. A cavity is created that allows the user's hand or fingers to be easily placed into the handle and prohibits the liner of the container from interfering with placement of the hand or fingers. A pour spout is also provided in the container that allows for access to the liner. The pour spout may be formed by tearing off a perforated portion of the container. A pinch closure may be provided so that the portion of the liner pulled through the spout can be secured.
