Packaging material and packaging container having an opening device made therefrom

Described herein are packaging materials and their use in manufacturing packaging containers having an opening device, and intended for food products. In some embodiments, a packaging material for a packaging container for liquid or semi-liquid food includes: a bulk layer made of paper or paperboard; a heat-sealing layer; a barrier layer arranged between the bulk layer and the heat-sealing layer; and a laminate layer arranged between the barrier layer and the bulk layer. The packaging material can include one or more weakenings in direct or indirect contact with an attenuation in the packaging material, the one or more weakenings defining a consumer opening area. The attenuation can provide a material bridge for an injection molded opening device. In one embodiment, the attenuation can include the heat-sealing layer, the barrier layer, and the laminate layer, but not the bulk layer.

Container with fold-out opening

Container with fold-out opening, resulting from the suitable bending and folding of a laminar body that has bending lines that define four rectangular walls, which have a common upper flap and another, common lower flap with bending lines; the upper flap has two folding lines that continue two transverse bending lines defining a wall that is in a central position; said folding lines defining three rectangular portions of the upper flap; the central portion having the same axis of symmetry as the central wall; each of the portions is provided with additions opposite the contact thereof with the walls; the addition having a tear line that divides the addition into two dividing parts; the portion having a slot and the addition having a tab in the dividing part thereof and which can be engaged and inserted into the slot.

A packaging box is fabricated by bending a corrugated cardboard plate and includes a quadrangular tube-shaped body that is rectangular in cross section and a cover for closing an opening of the body. The first cover plate is connected to a first end edge of one of the pair of first circumferential surface plates on a side near the opening and closes the opening. The second cover plate is connected to a second end edge of the other of the pair of first circumferential surface plates on the side near the opening and is adhered to an outer surface of the first cover plate. The second cover plate is split into an adhesive piece that is adhered to the first cover plate and a peeling piece that has one side connected to the second end edge and is peeled off from the adhesive piece along a breaking line.

Package material and package container formed with said material

Package material comprises one or more layers of plastic laminate, a first side, a second side and an penetration area (40). Two weakening lines (30, 30b) extend from the penetration area (40) creating a space in between and thus forming an opening ( ) in the package material. The package material comprises a plastic opening device ( ), with a first and second portion ( ) attached to the first and second side, respectively and a material bridge ( ) penetrating through the penetration area (40). The second portion covers at least partly the penetration area and comprises a guiding portion ( ) extending from the penetration area (40) onto the space adjacent and to the weakening lines (30, 30b) as to facilitate rupturing substantially along the at least one weakening line.
