Bird Feeder With Elastomeric Feed Port
An elastomeric feed port and a bird feeder having a seed reservoir with a seed opening fitted with such an elastomeric feed port is provided. The feed port has an elastomeric seed control membrane with a cutout that forms at least one aperture through which birds can access seed in the reservoir. The cutout is shaped to create flexible flaps or fingers adjacent the aperture in the membrane that partially cover the seed opening to reduce seed spillage but that can be pushed aside or temporarily deformed by a bird when the bird inserts its beak into the cutout aperture to access seed therethrough.
Critter-proof bird feeder apparatus
A critter-proof bird feed apparatus includes a critter deterrent barrier/deflector assembly that attaches to the top of a bird feeder and prevents critters from accessing the bird feeder when the combined apparatus is hung up. The critter deterrent barrier/deflector assembly includes a connecting cable having a first end attached to the bird feeder and a second end for attaching to a pole, bracket, or other support structure above. The critter deterrent barrier/deflector assembly includes a deflector plate that extends in a lateral/horizontal direction. The deflector plate has a larger width than the bird feeder and block a view of the bird feeder from above the deflector plate. The critter deterrent barrier/deflector assembly includes a plurality of inverted, overlapping cones extending above the deflector plate, and preventing a critter from gripping onto the cones.
SEED GUARD AND BIRD FEEDER UNDERCUT
The present disclosure provides a bird feeder having a seed container secured to a seed tray to provide access to seeds. The seed tray is in turn comprised of an undercut and a central rod having a spring mechanism. The spring mechanism allows for a shroud that is connected to the central rod, to move from a first position where access to the seeds is permitted to a second position where access to the seeds is prevented. The seed tray is also comprised of an undercut, either at a periphery of the seed tray or at individual ports of the seed tray, the undercut to prevent seeds from falling out of the seed tray when the bird feeder sways or otherwise moves. A seed guard may also be provided onto the seed tray, the seed guard having a circumferential undercut to prevent seeds from falling out of the seed tray.
ADJUSTABLE SPRING SYSTEM FOR USE IN BIRD FEEDERS
The present disclosure provides an adjustable spring system, which is comprised of a central rod positioned partially within a member. A spring is positioned over the central rod, confined in the area in between the lower cap and the member. The member is attached to and capped by an end cap, and the member is threaded onto the central rod. As such, rotation of the end cap or the member directly correspondingly rotates the member, which moves up or down along the length of the central rod. When the adjustable spring system is installed within a bird feeder, it allows an operator to choose the amount of compression of the spring, which in turn affects the ability of the central rod to move with respect to the seed tray.
Modular Bird Feeder Assembly
A modular bird feeder assembly includes a bird feeder that has the ornamental appearance of a log. The bird feeder has a plurality of protrusions each extending outwardly therefrom to simulate the appearance of branches extending away from the log. Additionally, the bird feeder has an axe integrated therein to enhance the ornamental appearance of the log. A chain is coupled to the bird feeder and a dish is removably attachable to the chain such that the bird feeder is suspended from the dish. The dish can be suspended from a support thereby facilitating the bird feeder to be elevated. A pole is provided that is removably attachable to the plate and the pole can be inserted into a support surface. In this way the bird feeder can be supported above the support surface rather than being suspended from the support.
Birdfeeders with multiple feeding ports
Various birdfeeder designs are provided for flowable bird feed such as seeds or nectar. In one design, the birdfeeder (100) has a housing including first and second receptacles (102 and 104). The receptacles (102 and 104) are intertwined to form a double helical configuration. A large number of feed ports (106) can be distributed across the receptacles (102 and 104) to attract a large number of birds in a small area. Partitions (116) within the receptacles (102 and 104) define a number of feed chambers (118) to supply feed at the feed ports (106).
PROTECTED HANDLE FOR COVER
The present disclosure provides a bird feeder preferably comprised of a cover, a seed container and a seed tray. The cover is further comprised of an annular handle, the handle extended from an underside portion of the cover. The handle is in turn further comprised of locking members that interact with corresponding protrusions on the feed container. The handle is further comprised of a first peripheral edge whereas the cover has a second peripheral edge and the second peripheral edge extends beyond the first peripheral edge.
Platform bird feeder with an adjustable wobbling baffle
A platform bird feeder including a base platform with a seed tray, a baffle and a center pole having a bottom end connected the tray, the baffle being tiltably and adjustably mounted to the pole above the base. Preferably, the seed tray has a seed protecting grate to hinder squirrels from accessing the seed in the tray. The height of the baffle above the seed tray may be adjusted up and down to allow the user to increase and decrease the seed access space, respectively, between the baffle and the tray. When the baffle is at a desired height, it is secured in place by an adjustable securing mechanism that, while holding the baffle at the desired height, allows the baffle to tilt or wobble when sufficient weight is placed on one side of the baffle.
CONNECTION SYSTEM FOR BIRD FEEDER
The present disclosure provides an improved connection system for use between a baffle and a seed tube of a bird feeder. The seed tube is further comprised of a plurality of tracks to receive a corresponding plurality of latches of the baffle. The tracks are generally L-shaped and have a tapered portion to better receive and compress the latches. The seed tube is also comprised of two recesses, each having a projection therein, the projections positioned on a pivotable surface. The projections of the seed tube are constructed to mate with corresponding openings that are positioned on raised portions of the baffle. Once the projections are inserted into the openings, the connection system is in a locked position and the baffle mates flushly and tightly with the seed tube.
Bird feeder with adjustable shroud
A bird feeder which comprises a seed container having at least one seed port to permit birds to have access to seed, a shroud extending about the seed port, a base member being secured to the seed container, a hollow tube extending upwardly from the base member and being located internally of the seed container, a rod extending within the hollow tube and a spring extending about a portion of the rod, the rod having a flange extending outwardly to bias a first end of the spring, an insert secured to the base member, the insert extending upwardly into the hollow tube with a second end of the spring being biased against the insert, the rod having a lower end secured against a bottom portion of the shroud.
