A poultry feeder system and method provides a mobile or movable feeder system which incorporates the functions and features necessary to provide poultry (for example) with essential and/or non-essential food and provisions for living and thriving. The poultry feeder system and method includes a body or (the cart) in which compartments are installed to divide various feeds or to provide storage of feed so the user can store and replenish the feed bins as needed. The feeder system may include wheels and handles, making the feeder system easy to move across terrain so that the user can move the feeder system to various locations in a field or property. The system includes an optional removable scratch spreader system that can be used to throw feed of various types.

Implementations described and claimed herein provide a bird feeder finial assembly. In one implementation, a bird feeder includes a finial having a finial body. The finial has a longitudinal axis. A swivel surface is disposed on the finial body, and a neck extends distally from the finial body along the longitudinal axis. The swivel has a swivel body with a proximal surface and a distal surface. A swivel opening is defined in the swivel body. The neck extends through the swivel opening, and the swivel body is translatable along the neck. A hanger is connected to the swivel body. The swivel body translates along the neck towards the first swivel surface into a swivel position when a suspending force is applied to the hanger, and the finial freely is rotatable about the longitudinal axis independent of the hanger when the swivel body is in the swivel position.

Implementations described and claimed herein provide a bird feeder finial assembly. In one implementation, a bird feeder includes a finial having a finial body. The finial has a longitudinal axis. A swivel surface is disposed on the finial body, and a neck extends distally from the finial body along the longitudinal axis. The swivel has a swivel body with a proximal surface and a distal surface. A swivel opening is defined in the swivel body. The neck extends through the swivel opening, and the swivel body is translatable along the neck. A hanger is connected to the swivel body. The swivel body translates along the neck towards the first swivel surface into a swivel position when a suspending force is applied to the hanger, and the finial freely is rotatable about the longitudinal axis independent of the hanger when the swivel body is in the swivel position.

The invention relates to a feeding device for poultry such as cocks, comprising an elongated feed transporting element with at least a bottom wall, a feed trough provided underneath it and parallel to it with a bottom, upright side walls and an at least partially open upper side, a feed transporting device for transporting feed through the feed transporting element, and a displacing device for moving the feed transporting element and the feed trough in a vertical direction relative to one another between a filling position and a feeding position, wherein the feed transporting element is provided on its underside with a plurality of passages for feed and a plurality of individual metering units provided at a distance from one another on the underside of the feed transporting element, each of which connects to one passage of the plurality of passages and each of which is configured for metering an individual, predetermined portion of feed received from the feed transporting element into the feed trough. The invention also relates to a method for feeding poultry such as cocks, and an animal house provided with such a feeding device.
