HIGH-DENSITY SUBTERRANEAN STORAGE SYSTEM FOR NUCLEAR FUEL AND RADIOACTIVE WASTE
An underground ventilated system for storing nuclear waste materials. The system includes a storage module having an outer shell defining an internal cavity and an inner shell. A majority of the height of the outer shell may be disposed below grade. The outer shell may include a hermetically sealed bottom. First and second canisters are positioned in lower and upper portions within the cavity respectively in vertically stacked relationship. A centering and spacing ring assembly is interspersed between the first and second canisters to transfer the weight of the upper second canister to the lower first canister. The assembly may include centering lugs which laterally restrain the first and second canisters in case of a seismic event. A natural convection driven ventilated air system cools the canisters to remove residual decay heat to the atmosphere. In one non-limiting embodiment, the shells are made of steel.
Drum stacking assembly
Disclosed is a drum stacking assembly 100. The assembly 100 comprises a first set of plurality of drums 108a and a second set of plurality of drums 108b, positioned relative amongst each other via a first connector 101 and a second connector respectively. Further, said assembly 100 comprises a pallet 109, wherein a top surface of the pallet 109 comprises a plurality of support shells 601 further comprising at least a plurality of ribs 602 adapted to support the first set of drums 108a. An outer reinforcing ring of the bottom surface of the first set of drums 108a is guided in the plurality of ribs 602. Further, a bottom surface of the pallet 109 comprises a plurality of grooves 202 further comprising at least a plurality of indentations 603 adapted to engage an outer reinforcing ring 301 of the upper surface of the second set of drums 108b.
Device for orienting a stack of containers
A fixing element for orienting vertically stacked cuboid containers has first and second vertical sidewalls and a connecting element wherein the first sidewalls form a right angle with each other and the second sidewalls face the outer sides of the first sidewalls. The fixing element can be form fittingly fastened on the corners of a container, wherein a further container is arranged on the fixing element and is fixed in its horizontal position relative to the first container. The fixing element can be easily released again and reused. An embodiment is disclosed with a connecting element as spacer whereby a spacing of two containers is achieved. When two containers are thus stacked with their upper open sides facing each other a third container can be accommodated therein.
Package carrying arrangement
A portable package carrying arrangement adapted and configured to carry a plurality of containers which is particularly applicable for use with canned items and/or items packaged in a container. The portable package carrying arrangement includes a panel portion and a handle portion. The panel portion includes a plurality of container flanges configured to releasably secure a plurality of containers to the panel portion.
CONTAINER WITH BOTTOM CRADLE
A disposable container includes a single headed can body, a closure coupled to the can body and a cradle. The single headed can body includes a generally convex base and a generally cylindrical sidewall defining an open end. The can body convex base and can body sidewall are unitary. The closure is coupled to the can body open end. The disposable cradle is coupled to the can body convex base.
CONTAINER
A container (1), including a bottom (2), side walls (3), at least one encoding body (4) for introducing into an encoding body receptacle (5) of another container (6), and at least one encoding body receptacle (7) for receiving, in turn, an encoding body of another container. The at least one encoding body (4) of the container (1) being fastened or fastenable to one of the side walls (3) of the container (1) by a connecting device (10), which is releasable without destruction, and having a projection (11), the encoding body receptacle (7) of the container (1) being likewise fastened or fastenable to one of the side walls (3) of the container (1) by a connecting device (10) which can be released without destruction.
MULTI-COMPARTMENT CONTAINERS
Described herein are multi-unit storage devices where two separate compartments are joined in a manner such that accessing one of the compartments does not compromise product held in the other compartment. The separate compartments may be vacuum or otherwise sealed such that when the seal is broken, access to the products contained therein is provided. Each of the compartments may be independently sealed.
Spacer Structure for Separating Two Stacked Tubs Configured for the Storage and/or Transport of a Plurality of Medical Containers, and a Packaging Including Said Spacer Structure
The spacer structure is configured to be arranged between a first tub and a second tub stacked onto each other along a central vertical axis A. The spacer structure includes a central portion and supporting arms outwardly extending from said central portion. The supporting arms and the central portion are configured to be located between a cover film of the first tub and a bottom of the second tub. The supporting arms further include first maintaining means configured to prevent radial displacements of the first tub relative to the spacer structure and second maintaining means configured to prevent radial displacements of the second tub relative to the spacer structure.
Basket assembly with socket recesses and lockable connecting posts for an extension part
A basket assembly having a main basket (1) and an extension part (2) and connecting posts (3). The main basket (1) has a basket base (4) and side walls (5) and socket recesses (6, 7) for the connecting posts (3) are formed in each case in the side walls (5) and in the extension part (2). The extension part (2) is fastened or is fastenable on the main basket (1), at a distance from the main basket (1), by the connecting posts (3) locked releasably in the socket recesses (6, 7), and the connecting posts (3) are each releasably locked or lockable in one of the socket recesses (6) of the side walls (5) of the main basket (1) by a twist lock (8), and are each releasably locked or lockable in one of the socket recesses (7) of the extension part (2) by a twist lock (8).
