High-density subterranean storage system for nuclear fuel and radioactive waste
11728061 · 2023-08-15 · ·

An underground ventilated system for storing nuclear waste materials. The system includes a storage module having an outer shell defining an internal cavity and an inner shell. A majority of the height of the outer shell may be disposed below grade. The outer shell may include a hermetically sealed bottom. First and second canisters are positioned in lower and upper portions within the cavity respectively in vertically stacked relationship. A centering and spacing ring assembly is interspersed between the first and second canisters to transfer the weight of the upper second canister to the lower first canister. The assembly may include centering lugs which laterally restrain the first and second canisters in case of a seismic event. A natural convection driven ventilated air system cools the canisters to remove residual decay heat to the atmosphere. In one non-limiting embodiment, the shells are made of steel.

TRANSPORT DEVICE

Provided is a container assembly including a container for storage and transport of goods including at least one side wall and a bottom wall defining together an interior space and a cover for closing the opening, having a top surface. The cover may include at least one latch member movable between at least a first position and a second position. The container may also include a retaining member on the at least one side wall and positioned parallel to the latch member such that the latch member is configured for engaging with a retaining member of another container to connect the container to the at least one other container.

SPACER FOR STACKING OPEN CONTAINERS
20230294875 · 2023-09-21 ·

A spacer for stacking first and second containers on each other. The spacer includes an elongated base body having a first support plate with a first support surface and a second support plate with a second support surface. Plunger portions project from the base body in opposite directions. The plunger portions are designed to plunge into respective recesses inside wall rims of the first and second containers stacked on top of each other or upside-down of each other. Fastening elements project from the base body to laterally enclose respective side walls of the first and second containers. The first and second support surfaces are designed to rest on the respective side wall rims of the first and second containers when the plunger portions plunge into the respective recesses of the first and second containers. The first and second support plates are spaced parallel from each other.

Modular telecommunications enclosures

Fiber optic modules for managing optical fibers and optical connections. In some examples, multiple modules are stackable. In some examples, the modules are configured to facilitate cable/fiber routing. Stacking elements can be used to serially stack multiple modules together. Components, such as lids and covers of the modules, can be substituted for components of different configurations. The modules and stacking elements are configured to reduce/minimize space taken up by stacking.

Multi-compartment container
