A spring carrier for receiving, retaining and discharging of a coil spring in a manufacturing assembly process comprising an elongate hollow body defining an inner cavity configured to receive a coil spring and an opening at a first proximal end of the hollow body for the insertion and/or extraction of a coil spring into/from the inner cavity. At least one deflectable member is located proximate to the second distal end of the hollow body and includes a retaining formation which is configured to engage a coil spring when located within the inner cavity.
