SCREW CAP CORE SEAL STRUCTURE
20250304330 · 2025-10-02 ·

A screw cap for containers comprises a screw cap body (10) and an expandable core seal (24) with an annular sealing element (30). A peripheral part (36) of a seal energizing clement (38) expands radially as the screw cap body (10) is screwed onto a container. The peripheral part (36) is joined to a backing (34) of the annular scaling element (30) which comprises a plurality of separate, axially extending segments (42, FIG. 4). The axial compression of the seal energising clement (38) thereby not only makes the adjacent part of the scaling element (30) tend to expand radially, but also makes the axially extending segments (42) tend to rotate upwardly and outwardly. A more evenly distributed sealing pressure of the annular sealing element (30) results.

Lid for container

An insulating container may include an opening, which can be sealed by a closure. The closure may have an upper portion with a handle that has a circular curvature equal to the cylindrical portion of the closure. The closure may also have a lower portion that is joined to the upper portion by an injection molded polymer element. The closure may also be in the form of flip type of closure such that the lid can be selectably opened or closed by the user by rotating a flip closure into either the opened or closed position. The closure may also be a two-part lid having a lower cap that may be configured to be removably-coupled to the container and an upper cap that may be configured to be removably-coupled to the lower cap.

Two-part plug assembly for a spout

A two-part plug assembly is disclosed for a drip-proof spout on an aseptic flexible container for flowable materials. The two-part plug assembly may include a plug and a plug insert, wherein the plug insert may include a flow inhibitor such as a baffle or valve. In a first step, the plug assembly is removably placed in a first position on a spout prior to aseptic filling. During filling, the plug assembly is removed. After filling, the plug insert assembly is replaced in a second position further down the spout wherein the plug insert fixedly engages the spout. When fixedly engaged to the spout, the plug insert remains inside the spout when the plug is removed prior to a user dispensing the flowable material. The flow inhibitor in the plug insert provides protection from leaking when the flexible container is inverted or inadvertently squeezed.

A variable tip nozzle and cap assembly for a dispensing pouch is disclosed. The nozzle and cap assembly includes a hollow nozzle, an adapter, a hollow tip, and a cap. A seal may be disposed between the hollow nozzle and the adapter to militate against an undesired flow of material from the dispensing pouch. The material may be a confectionary for decorating cakes and cookies, for example. The adapter includes threaded portions of different diameters, which receive the hollow tip and/or the cap. The hollow tip may be configured for application of the material in a specific design.
