A one-piece closure includes first and second closure portions. The first closure portion includes a top wall portion and an annular skirt portion depending from the top wall portion. The annular skirt portion includes an internal thread formation for mating engagement with an external thread formation of a container. The second closure portion includes a tamper-evident band. The tamper-evident band depends from and is partially detachably connected to the annular skirt portion by a first frangible connection. The closure includes polymeric material and wood filler.

Closure with rotation-inhibiting projection

A closure includes first and second closure portions. The first closure portion includes a polymeric top wall portion and an annular skirt portion. The skirt portion includes exterior and interior surfaces. The interior surface includes an internal thread formation for mating engagement with an external thread formation of a container and at least one rotation-inhibiting projection. The rotation-inhibiting projection is located to contact the external thread formation. The rotation-inhibiting projection is in the general shape of the letter “C” prior to engagement with the external thread formation of the container. The second closure portion includes a polymeric tamper-evident band.

Two-Piece Cap

A 2-piece closure includes a cap having a first skirt perpendicular to, and extending downwardly from, a first circular top wall. The first skirt includes a groove and a first anti-rotation formation. A tamper band attaches to the first skirt by frangible members. A cap cover includes a second skirt extending downwardly from a second circular top wall. The second circular top wall and the second skirt define an interior having a groove engagement formation and a second anti-rotation formation. The cap cover encloses a portion of the cap, with the groove engagement formation and the groove engaged. The first and second anti-rotation formations interact to restrict rotation of the cap cover relative to the cap.

Tamperproof seal for sealing containers

A system for a tamperproof seal having a cap assembly and a bottle assembly is disclosed. The bottle assembly includes a bottle with a neck and bottle threads. The cap assembly includes a cap with a top portion and a bottom portion which engage the neck of the bottle. Between the top and bottom portion there is a seal created. The seal is initially intact and only broken once the top and bottom portion are separated. The seal cannot be replaced once it has been broken. If the seal is broken reaching the intended party, then tampering occurred. The top portion may be removably mounted to the bottle. The top portion includes inner threads that engage the bottle threads. The bottom portion includes inner teeth angled towards each other which engage the bottommost of bottle threads. Inner teeth prevent the replacing of the cap once the seal is broken.

A closure with a top panel, a skirt extending downward and away from the top panel, frangible connections that connect the skirt to a tamper band. The frangible connections provide a visual indication, when broken, that the closure has been opened. The tamper band includes a sidewall coupled to the frangible connections, the sidewall including a recess in which a pivotable engagement structure is displaced while the closure is applied to a container.

Tamper evidence container closure

A container closure and methods are disclosed for providing visible evidence of removal of the closure from a container after installation by a manufacturer. The closure includes tamper evidence bridges comprising small tabs of material that extend from a bottom-most edge of the closure to a tamper evidence ledge of the container. The bridges break when the closure is rotated relative to the tamper evidence ledge, thereby providing readily visible evidence that the closure has been removed after installation by the manufacturer. In some embodiments, a tamper evidence closure engages with threads of a finish of the container. Cam locks around the perimeter of the tamper evidence closure are permanently flared by cams on the finish during loosening of the closure. Outward flaring of the cam locks provides a visual indication that the tamper evidence closure has been loosened after installation by a manufacturer.

Flip-top closure

A flip-top closure includes first and second closure polymeric portions. The first closure portion includes a top wall portion, a skirt portion and a tamper-evident feature being detachably connected to the annular skirt. The second closure portion includes a top wall portion, a skirt portion with an internal thread formation and an upwardly-extending locking tab, and a tamper-evident band. The first and second closure portions are attached via a hinge. The closure moves to an open position, resulting in the tamper-evident feature being detached from the remainder of the first closure portion and remaining adjacent to the skirt portion of the second closure portion in which the upwardly-extending locking tab assists in preventing or inhibiting the tamper-evident feature from falling off of the closure after the closure has been opened.
