Methods of overmolding softer material with harder material and moisture tight container assemblies made by the methods
A method of over-molding materials includes: providing a first material in a groove in a first portion of a mold such that only a single surface of the first material is exposed to a vacant portion of the mold; providing, via an injection molding process, a second material in a liquid form in the vacant portion of the mold adjacent to, and in engagement with, the first material; and allowing the second material to solidify and become directly coupled to the first material, thus forming a single component. The second material has one or both of a greater hardness when solidified than the first material and/or a higher melting temperature than the first material.
Moisture tight containers and methods of making and using the same
A method for storing and preserving moisture sensitive products includes providing a moisture tight container (400) having an insert (300) made from a desiccant entrained polymer that is less than 3.25 g in mass, disposing a plurality of moisture sensitive products into the interior compartment when the container is in the open position, and moving the container into the closed position, thereby creating a moisture tight seal between the lid (420) and the container body (401). The container provides a shelf life to the moisture sensitive products of at least 12 months. The container, when in the closed position, has a moisture vapor transmission rate, at ambient conditions of 30° C. and 75% relative humidity (RH), of less than 500|ig/day.
Carton
A carton for holding at least one article includes a plurality of panels that extends at least partially around an interior of the carton. The plurality of panels includes a bottom panel, a front panel, a back panel, at least one side panel, and a top panel. The carton further includes a tray formed from the bottom panel, the front panel, the back panel, and the at least one side panel, and the tray is for at least partially receiving the at least one article. The carton further includes a lid formed from the at least one top panel, the lid includes at least one article engaging feature for engaging the at least one article.
Container Base and Lid with Planar Area for Flat Application of Adhesive Membrane
The embodiments provide a container of the type to hold fresh food or produce. Container has a base and a lid moveable with respect to the base between an open position and a closed position. The lid has a planar area. The base has a second planar area. In the closed position, the first planar and the second planar area include a substantially flat area suitable for receipt of an adhesive membrane, such as a self-adhesive label. The substantially flat area includes an edge of the first planar area and at least part of the second planar area.
HOUSEHOLD TISSUE PAPER CONTAINER
A household tissue paper container includes a container body that is configured to store household tissue paper therein and has a take-out portion having an outlet through which the household tissue paper is taken out; and an open/close lid that is pivotably attached to the container body and closes the outlet. The outlet is formed at a swelling portion having a substantially spherical raised shape in the take-out portion. The outlet has a protruding piece that is protruding from a front edge of the outlet toward a rear where the open/close lid is attached to the container body.
LID WITH INTEGRATED STORAGE
A container includes a base and a cap that engages a portion of the base. The base has a body portion and a neck portion, where the neck portion defines an open end. The cap has a housing and a hinged lid. The housing defines an open cavity in the cap, and the neck portion extends into the open cavity. The hinged lid is movable between an open position providing access to the cavity and a closed portion sealing the cavity.
Food storage container
A configurable container is provided that has an interior surface configured to secure one or more rigid or flexible dividers and to allow for reconfigurable interior compartments of the container. The dividers may also include an integrated material such as a gel that can be heated or cooled in order to maintain a desired temperature within the container. The container may include a lid that engages the top surfaces of the dividers to establish a plurality of substantially sealed compartments within the container.
Packaging sealing system and a packaging assembly including such a sealing system
A packaging assembly includes a container body defining an interior for housing a product and an opening leading to the interior. The assembly further includes a cap that moves with respect to the container body to move the assembly between a closed position in which the cap covers the opening, and an opened position in which the opening is exposed. A first seal (40) is defined between the container body and the cap. The first seal includes a protrusion (42) formed on one of the container body about the opening or the cap, and a groove (44) formed on the other of the container body about the opening or the cap. The protrusion is received by the groove when the assembly is in the closed position, such that contact is maintained in a sealing relationship around the opening between the groove and the protrusion.
Tamper-resistant air-permeable container
A tamper-resistant air-permeable container includes a cover having a bottom that is formed with a first wall having primary troughs and primary blocks and formed with a retaining engagement portion; and a box including a receiving space and having a second wall that is provided with a first step part lower than the second wall and a second step part lower than the first step part to define forming therebetween a retaining engagement groove. The second wall is formed with secondary troughs, each including a curved section, such that each of the secondary troughs has a curved configuration. When the cover is combined with the box, the retaining engagement portions of the cover are fit into and retained in the retaining engagement groove. The primary troughs and the secondary troughs form passages in communication with the receiving space.
CHILD-RESISTANT STORAGE CONTAINER
The technology disclosed herein includes methods and apparatus of a childproof storage container, which includes a lid and a base portion with seesaw-style latches. The seesaw-style latches are configured to unlock a childproof storage container in a looked position upon simultaneously release. Each seesaw-style latch may include a flared end. In a locked position, the childproof storage container may be unlocked and opened upon depression of the flared end of the seesaw-style latch, which rotates the seesaw-style latch from the lid. Each seesaw-style latch may include a standing rib to prevent over-rotation of each seesaw-style latch and/or a chamfer to facilitate closure. The base portion may include a base portion flange, which includes a plurality of female recesses to receive the plurality of male teeth of a lid flange. The base portion and the lid may include opposing walls that interlock during a closed position and/or a gasket for sealing.
