Child resistant double seam container lid

The present invention is directed to a child resistant double seam container lid including an adapter ring for securely affixing to the double seam top rim of conventional double seamed containers that will be difficult for children to open, yet readily openable by adults. More particularly, a one-piece, two-piece, and three-piece child resistant double seam affixable container lid is provided having a first piece lid portion first, a second piece adapter ring locking member second piece and optionally a third piece securing unit piece, with rotational alignment indicators, and optional additional integral features such as a liquid measuring cup feature, a liquid tight lid feature, a threaded lid portion, a replaceable double seam container lid portion and a double seam container lid locking member adapter ring securely affixable to the double seam container.

An internal cap member intended to be placed on the container. The internal cap member carries a security ring including a security element including a locking abutment mobile radially between a cooperation position, favored by elastic biasing, in which the locking abutment cooperates with a complementary locking abutment carried by the container, and a separation position, in which the locking abutment is separated from the complementary locking abutment. The security ring is mobile axially on the cap. The closure device also includes an element for transforming the axial movement of the security ring into radial movement of the security element, making it possible for the radial position of the locking abutment to change from its cooperation position to its separation position.

The inner casing is mounted in the upper casing, and the top part of the inner casing penetrates the top part of the upper casing. The upper casing and the inner casing are axially slidable and radially rotatable relative to each other, the storage box is engaged in the lower casing and threadingly connected with the upper casing, and the inner casing and the tray are rotatably connected with the lower casing by a pin.

A manway cover assembly can be used to control access to the interior of a railroad tank car or other type of tank or structure. The manway cover assembly can have a tightening system, such as a screw tightening system and an attachment system. The attachment system can have a ledge configured to engage a flange that surrounds an opening. A cover can control access to the opening. The tightening system can secure the ledge to the flange and lock the cover over the opening. A manway cover assembly can also be used for selectively sealing an access passageway of a tank. The manway cover assembly can have an internal seal that remains sealed independent of movement between the cover and the opening within a set range of movement.
