CONTAINER SEAL OVER-PRESSURE VENT MECHANISM

A container assembly includes a vessel and a lid removably coupled to the vessel. The lid includes a circumferential rim at an interface with the vessel, wherein the rim is separated from the vessel by a gap, wherein the gap is open to the atmosphere outside the container. The container includes a gasket disposed at a sealing position between the lid and the vessel to seal a reservoir of the vessel from the gap. The rim includes a recess extending circumferentially along a first portion of the rim. The recess forms a portion of the gap and defines a venting zone extending circumferentially along the first portion of the rim. In response to the internal reservoir of the vessel reaching a threshold pressure, a portion of the gasket moves from the sealing position through the gap such that fluid held in the reservoir is vented past the gasket through the venting zone to reduce the pressure of the reservoir.

The present invention relates to a container assembly for accommodating a beverage. The container assembly comprises a collapsible beverage container having a body part for accommodating the beverage and a cylindrical neck part defining a gas-filled headspace. The container assembly further comprises a closure sealing off an opening of the cylindrical neck part. The closure comprises a closure disc, an inner cylindrical part and an outer cylindrical part. The closure disc comprises a beverage outlet for extracting the beverage. The closure further comprises a pressure-relief device located at the closure disc or the inner cylindrical part. The pressure-relief device is capable of establishing a permanent or reclosable opening through the closure or between the closure and the neck part for allowing a flow of fluid from the headspace to an external space when a pressure difference exceeds a predetermined pressure value being lower than the burst pressure of the container.

Beverage cap

A closure for a container includes a cap connected to a retaining ring. The cap includes a cover and a skirt. A plurality of concentric threads are disposed on an inside surface of the skirt. The plurality of threads includes at least a first thread at a first level and a second thread at a second level. The first thread is comprised of at least a first thread segment separated from a second thread segment by a first space. The second thread is comprised of at least a third thread segment separated from a fourth thread segment by a second space. A plurality of latch segments includes a first latch segment separated from a second latch segment by a third space. The first space, the second space, and the third space at least partially overlap in along a radial direction of the cap to provide a flex point.

Venting closure liner

A closure having a liner is provided. The liner forms one or more venting recesses that facilitate relieving pressure from a container to which the closure is affixed. In embodiments the liner extends from an outer surface of an annular wall through an outer disc of the liner.

Sealing structures for closure

Described is one or more embodiments of closures that include a pressure-relieving feature in a third plug. In one embodiment, the pressure-relieving feature is a gap within the third plug. In another embodiment, the pressure-relieving feature includes one or more recesses within inner surface of the third plug, thereby providing fluid communication between an outer surface of the second plug and the ambient air outside the closure.

A capsule for maintaining containment of a substance within a predetermined volume includes a housing having a tubular shape and walls with an inside surface. The housing has at least one open end. A cap is configured to be assembled coaxially to the housing. The cap includes a top and a plug configured to be inside the housing when the cap is assembled to the housing through the open end. An outer surface of the plug is dimensioned to engage an adjacent inside surface of the housing in an interference fit of the cap with the housing. A method for sealing a capsule is also disclosed.

CONTAINER CLOSURE WITH VENTING SEAL

A container closure includes an outer cap, an inner cap, and a seal. The outer cap includes a top wall and an outer sidewall extending downward from the top wall. The inner cap is secured within the outer cap and includes a bottom wall and an inner sidewall extending upwardly from the bottom wall. The seal is secured to the inner cap and includes a seal sidewall and a rim extending inwardly from the seal sidewall. The seal sidewall sealingly engages the inner sidewall and the rim sealingly overlaps the bottom wall. The inner cap together with the seal define an air pathway in fluid communication between a space between the outer and inner caps and an air opening formed on the bottom wall of the inner cap and selectively covered by the rim.
