SELF-VENTING CLOSURE

A self-venting closure assembly includes a closure body having a deck with a peripheral mounting skirt and an annular seal on an underside of the deck adjacent to the peripheral mounting skirt, further including a circular valve seat within the center portion of the deck, and a plurality of vent openings circumferentially spaced within the valve seat, all surrounded by an annular spillover wall. An elastomeric umbrella valve is centrally mounted to the deck and has a frustoconical valve flap arranged on an underside of the valve seat. The valve flap cooperates with the vent openings to normally seal the vent openings but permits air to flow into an interior of the closure body when a vacuum is applied to an interior of the container on which the closure is mounted.

What is described here is a closing cap (1) for a container (2), in particular for a container (2) intended to contain pressurised beverages. The cap comprising a lateral wall (3) extending around an axis (Z) and a transversal wall (4) positioned at one end of the lateral wall (3), a separating line (5) being provided on the lateral wall (3) to define a retaining ring (301), which extends as far as a free edge (304) and is configured to internally engage with a locking ring (206) of a neck (201) of the container (2), and a closing element (302) removably engageable with the neck, so as to open or close the container. The cap comprises an inner thread structure, positioned on the inside of the lateral wall (3) of the closing element (302) to engage with an outer thread structure of the neck (201) and to removably couple the closing element (302) to the neck (201) of the container (2). The inner thread structure (305) extends in a spiral around the axis (Z) and comprises at least two vent grooves (306) which extend axially and interrupt the inner thread structure (305) thereby defining first segments (307), near the transversal wall (4) and second segments (308), over which the first segments (307) are axially superposed; wherein each of the first segments (307) extends angularly in a continuous way and at least one segment of the second segments (308) is interrupted by a vent passage (309), to facilitate the discharge of the pressure.

PRESSURE CONTAINING/RELIEVING CAP FOR A LIQUIFIED NATURAL GAS RECEPTACLE

A cap for closing an opening of a receptacle such as for a liquefied natural gas container. The cap includes a main body and a sealing surface for sealing the opening of the receptacle. A lock/release mechanism is provided to lock the cap onto the receptacle, or enable the cap to be removed from the receptacle. A relief valve of the cap is activatable to relieve pressure within the receptacle. A grip overlies the main body and a relief valve actuator, enabling a user to activate the relief valve via the grip. The cap is configured to relieve pressure in a first stage of removal, and then unlock from the receptacle in a second stage of removal. A catch and secondary pressure relief features are provided to control removal of the cap. Magnets may be provided for proximity sensors to indicate proper closure of the cap on the receptacle.

CLOSURES AND VESSELS WITH CLOSURES

A closure can close an outlet of a vessel. The vessel outlet can comprise a tubular cavity with an interior surface. The closure can comprise a male portion comprising a distal undersized portion, a proximal oversized portion, and a taper between the undersized and oversized portion. The male portion can be inserted in the vessel outlet, undersized portion first. Interference between the inner diameter of the vessel outlet and the outer diameter of male portion can occur when the male portion is sufficiently inserted. The interference can cause the undersized portion to flare out and engage the interior surface of the tubular cavity, thereby providing a seal.

Bottle cap and bottle

A bottle cap is disclosed. The bottle cap includes a cap body having a cover plate and a cylinder part integral with the cover plate. A stopper member protrudes from an inner surface of the cover plate. The stopper member includes a sealing part supported by a support structure integral with the cover plate. An annular guiding plate protrudes from a sidewall surface of the cylinder part and is inclined toward the stopper member to engage with the sealing part.

CONTAINER AND CLOSURE WITH ANTI-MISSILING CHANNELS

A container for pressurised liquid has a closure (V) engaged on the neck (N), both formed of yieldable polymer. The closure (V) has an end wall (21) and a skirt (20) provided with internal screw threads (24) which co-operate with external screw threads (23) on the neck to hold the closure in place. A pressure seal (25) is formed between the mouth (22) of the neck and the end wall (21) of the closure when the closure is screwed onto the neck whereby the pressurised liquid is retained within the container. To prevent missiling when the closure (V) is unscrewed the proximal face (28) of the external screw threads (23) is formed with transverse venting channels (36) extending from the base (26) of the respective screw threads to their outer extremity (27). The distal face (29) of the external screw threads (23) opposite each of the venting channels (36) is substantially continuous. This avoids weakening the neck of the container and reduces the risk of long-term creep.

A Beverage Cup and Closure Therefor

A beverage cup (20) and closure (30) assembly (10) is provided. The closure (30) includes a lid (100), an upper member (200), and a lower member (300). The lid (100) includes an aperture (130) and a drinking opening (122). The upper member (200) is located on the outside of the lid (100) and is rotatable between a first position, in which the upper member (200) covers the drinking opening (122), and a second position, in which the drinking opening (122) is unobstructed by the upper member (200). The lower member (300) is located on the inside of the lid (100) and is coupled to the upper member (200) via the aperture (130) and is rotatable by the upper member (200) between a first position, in which lower member (300) closes the drinking opening (122) and a second position in which the drinking opening (122) is unobstructed by lower member (300).

Tamper Evident Reclosable Container

A tamper-evident container has a lid with a rim with a bead mating with a groove in a base rim. The rim bead is interrupted by a tab wall which does not engage the base. The lid has a first flange portion which overlies a base flange. The base and lid first flange portions extend outwardly about the same amount. At the tab, a second portion of the lid flange extends substantially outwardly beyond the base flange. The flange second portion is connected to the first portion on both sides of the tab by weakened lines of material which extend cut lines through the tab front wall. The tab second flange portion is engageable to sever the weakened lines of material and pivot the tab upwardly to remove the lid, thus deforming it and evidencing tampering should the lid be replaced on the base. Base vents reduce ballooning when closed.
