The base includes a bottom wall and a base side wall. The lid includes a top wall and a lid skirt. The lid mates with the base to define an interior space. The label has a front face and a rear face. The label includes an outer web including polymer film, paper, or a combination thereof and an inner web of polymer. A tear strip is defined in the inner web by one or more weakened portion, score lines, or cuts in the inner web. The rear face of the label is adhesively bonded to the base side wall and to the lid skirt to form a seal between the base and the lid. The tear strip is positioned between a portion of the label adhesive bonded to the base side wall and a portion of the label adhesively bonded to the lid skirt. The tear strip can be used to open the container.

A removable sealing strip and method is provided for sealing a lid removably secured to a top portion of a container. The removable sealing strip includes a strip removably affixed to a substrate and has a first portion extending from a first end thereof, a second portion extending from the first portion, and a third portion extending between the second portion of the strip and a second end thereof. The strip is foldable along a fold line such that an inner surface of the first portion of strip binds to an to inner surface of the second portion of the strip so as to define a tap on the strip. The inner surface of the third portion of the strip is affixable to the lid and to the top portion of the container to substantially inhibits removal of the lid from the top portion of the container. The tab is configured to facilitate removal of the third portion of the strip from the lid and the top portion of the container.

Embodiments of a tamper-evident closure are disclosed which prevent unauthorized access to a container and its contents, deterring adulteration or introduction of counterfeit product. In one embodiment the tamper-evident closure can be fitted to an associated container and closure, and includes a portion which is removed by fracture of the tamper-evident closure to gain access to the container closure. In another embodiment, an arrangement of wedge-like tongues permit fitment of the tamper-evident closure to associated container for temper-evidence. In another embodiment, the tamper-evident closure is joined by frangible bridges to the container closure to provide the desired tamper-evidence. In another embodiment, the tamper-evident closure is movable axially of the associated container closure to thereby provide evidence of removal.

A labelling arrangement for a multi-part container includes a sleeve-shaped cap element having an interlocking structure adapted to be applied to a first part of the container and coupled to the first part by the interlocking structure. The labelling arrangement further includes a sealing label adapted to be attached to a second part of the container by a second label portion and to surround the applied cap element by a first label portion. The labelling arrangement further includes at least one severing region so that, when the container applied with the labelling arrangement is opened, the labelling arrangement is severable in the severing region and at least a part of the cap element is removable together with the first part of the container from the second part of the container.

The second closure portion includes a tamper-evident band being at least partially detachably connected to the skirt portion by a frangible connection. The tamper-evident band includes first and second portions connected via a bending area. The second portion extends generally upwardly from the bending area towards the top portion and is located inwardly from the first portion of the band. The second portion of the band includes a tab portion and an extension portion. The extension portion is located further from the bending area than the tab portion. The average thickness of the tab portion is greater than the average thickness of the extension portion. The extension portion extends continuously around an entire inner circumference of the closure.

Once so sealingly engaged, a first portion of the first container lid is detachable from, and re-attachable to, the container body. A security band remains attached to a neck of the container body when the first portion of the container lid is detached from the container body. In one or more embodiments, when detached from the container body, the first portion of the container lid remains connected to the security band via a tether. The tether is formed substantially within security band. The container body is adapted to be stacked onto a second container lid so that a first three-dimensional profile of the second container lid matingly receives a second three-dimensional profile of the container body. In one or more embodiments, the second container lid is identical to the first container lid.
