POLYESTER PACKAGING MATERIAL

White goniochromatic packaging article. The package wall containing a composition useful for blocking light in the spectrum ranges from about 200 nm to about 1200 nm. The composition has polyester, polymethylpentene, and a light scattering pigment. The composition optionally includes at least one other colorant. Each of the polymethylpentene and the light scattering pigment comprise about 0.1 to about 0.5 weight percent of the wall. The polyester and polymethylpentene are immiscible and when subjected to orientation stresses the composition produces a goniochromatic packaging article.

Polymer with blue light absorbing units chemically bonded to a polyermic backbone of the polymer

In an embodiment, a polymer includes less than 99.5 percent by weight of units derived from one or more olefin monomers. The polymer also includes greater than 0.5 percent by weight of units derived from one or more blue light absorbing monomers. In another embodiment, a method includes placing a heated parison of a polymer in a mold. The polymer is formed by polymerizing a mixture of one or more olefin monomers and one or more blue light absorbing monomers. The polymer has one or more blue light absorption characteristics. The method includes closing the mold. The method includes injecting gas into the parison to form a container in the mold. The method also includes removing the container from the mold.

A cover for a beverage jug having a spigot. The cover includes a side panel that curves back upon itself so that two vertical side edges of the side panel can be joined together by a seam. A top panel is joined to the top edge of the side panel by a seam that extends around the top panel. A zipper extends from the bottom edge and into the side panel to form at least one flap when opened that provides access to the spigot of the beverage jug. The beverage jug and cooler cover effectively covers and protects beverage jugs and beverage coolers, and provides additional insulation to help extend the time that the beverage remains cold, protects the plastic of the jug or cooler from exposure to ultraviolet rays, while also protecting the spigot of the beverage jug or cooler from attracting and collecting insects, dust, and/or dirt.
