The present disclosure relates to strata 2-ply drawstring trash bags implementing a J-flap extended hem to provide increased top-of-bag strength. In one or more embodiments, the J-flap extended hem includes a 2-ply web folded back on itself (e.g., during a hem folding operation to enclose the drawstring within a hem channel). In one or more implementations, a hem seal secures the 2-ply web to an inside surface of the trash bag. At least one ply of the 2-ply web fold-over extends past the hem seal and is additionally secured to the inside surface of the trash bag via one or more hem skirt seals. For reduced material consumption in certain embodiments, the J-flap extended hem of the present disclosure imparts added strength using only one ply of the 2-ply web fold-over. In some embodiments, at least one ply of the 2-ply web fold-over includes ring-rolled portions to add top-of-bag strength.

Fully recyclable environmental protection packaging structure

A fully recyclable environmental protection packaging structure applied to express deliveries, postal services and logistics and made of a planar structure of paper. The packaging structure includes a first surface and a protecting layer overlapped on the surface. The protecting layer includes at least one layer of liner which is a three-dimensional network structure. The packaging structure of the present disclosure can overcome problems that kraft paper bubble bags or envelopes, and paper and plastics can't be separated and recycled to pollute environment in the prior art. At the same time, it can solve technical problems of dust pollution and poor air quality caused by using powdery and granular soft structures used as buffers.

A laminate includes an outer liner having a resin layer disposed on a paper sheet. The resin layer extends between first and second opposed lateral edges of the sheet and defines a moisture barrier. A cushion layer is disposed over the resin layer. An inner liner of kraft paper is disposed over the cushion layer. A region of the resin layer is activated into an adhesive bonding the cushion layer and inner liner to the sheet. The laminate defines first and second longitudinally adjacent portions. The outer liner in the first portion has opposed first and second peripheral portions extending laterally outward from opposed lateral edges of the cushion layer and inner liner to the first and second lateral edges of the sheet, whereby a first width between the lateral edges along the first portion exceeds a second width measured the lateral edges along the second portion.

EASY-TO-TEAR FLEXIBLE PACKAGING SUBSTRATE
20210179329 · 2021-06-17 ·

The present invention describes easy-to-tear polymeric flexible packaging substrate i.e. polymeric film/laminate. The easy-to-tear flexible packaging film is obtained by providing a plurality of non-through micro-indentations on one or both surface of the film. The micro-indentations are located over the entire or partial surface area of the film. The easy-to-tear packaging laminate of the present invention is obtained by providing a plurality of non-through micro-indentations on at least one surface of at least one layer of the packaging laminate The micro-indentations are located over the entire or partial surface area of the corresponding surfaces of the layers of the laminate. The micro-indentations may have a depth between 1-70% of the thickness of the polymeric layer. The density of the micro-indentations on a particular surface may be from 10/cm.sup.2 to 10,000/cm.sup.2.

Film

A film for use in a packaging structure, comprising a coating on the film surface which comprises a binder and a particulate protuberant component able to remove a volatile organic compound from an environment in contact with the film in the packaging structure. Also provided is a packaging structure comprising such a film and a package which comprises the packaging structure.

MULTI-FILM THERMOPLASTIC BAGS HAVING GRAB ZONES WITH CONTACT AREAS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME

One or more implementations of a multi-film thermoplastic bag with a grab zone of contact areas positioned in a high-touch area of the bag. For example, the multi-film thermoplastic bag includes one or more regions of a first film in contact with a second film at one or more contact areas. The grab zone regions of one or more contact areas are located in visible and high-touch areas to provide visual and tactile cues of strength and durability. Moreover, the grab zone regions of one or more contact areas serve to distribute pull and lift forces across a wider area in order to avoid common failures in high-touch areas such as over stretching, punctures, tears, and rips.
