A package is provided that is formed from a packaging material, such as film, having increased adhesive in critical locations, such as adjacent folds in the end seal and other areas so that that the increased adhesive can at least partially fill voids adjacent such folds. The additional, localized sealant material is applied in a plurality of discrete locations in the end seal or other region adjacent where folds are formed and overlap with a sealant layer so as to provide additional sealant material for at least partially filling the voids without being present throughout the entirety, majority or large portions of the packaging material.

The invention relates to a bag (3) having a filling space for bulk material, which filling space is delimited by a lower base (4), a circumferential wall (6), and an upper filling space closure (8) facing away from the lower base (4). The bag has at least one tear-open strip (10) for exposing an opening area (12) of the bag (2), which is delimited by an upper weakening line (14) and a lower weakening line (16), wherein both weakening lines (14, 16) extent parallel to the upper filling space closure (8), and the upper weakening line (14) is positioned between the upper filling space closure (8) and the lower weakening line (16). The bag (2) has a longitudinal seam (18) extending transversely with respect to the upper filling space closure (8). The upper and the lower weakening line (14, 16) begin in the area of the longitudinal seam (18). Flexible package with reclose region

A reclosable flexible package is described that includes an inner film layer, an outer film layer laminated to the inner film layer, and reclose region defined in a portion of package film layers. The reclose region includes pressure sensitive adhesive disposed between the inner and outer film layers. A number of cut lines are provided in the outer film layer in the reclose region, such that the user, by manipulating the package film layers at the reclose region, can reveal the underlying layer of pressure sensitive adhesive. Once the pressure sensitive adhesive of the reclose region is exposed, the action of the user can serve to adhere the pressure sensitive adhesive to itself and/or other portions of the film, such that the package is cinched in the area of the reclose region and maintains the remnants of the package contents within the reclosed package for later use.

A reclosable flexible package is described that includes an inner film layer, an outer film layer laminated to the inner film layer, and reclose region defined in a portion of package film layers.
