Packages comprising a film surrounding the medical device are described and including a tear-enabling feature and a gripping feature enabling a user to use a finger, a thumb or an end of a tool to apply a sufficient tearing force to cause the tear-enabling feature to tear and move the first end of the package away from the second end of the package using only one hand and to expose the medical device to be accessed for use. Also described are methods of packaging a medical device.

The method including providing a sheet of material in the form of a strip, first folding the sheet of material onto itself to form a first package face and a second package face that oppose each other, a first end portion and a second end portion of the sheet of material extending from the first package face, sealing the sheet of material along opposed longitudinal edges of the sheet of material, fixing the first end portion and the second end portion to each other to form a sealing flap, first defining an opening cut in the sealing flap, the opening cut being defined by both the first end portion and the second end portion, and connecting the sealing flap to the first package face to form the assembled package, the opening cut not being visible or directly accessible on the assembled package.

Embodiments include a package for containing and dispensing a product. The package includes first and second layers; a product seal zone where the first layer is joined to the second layer, the product seal zone having an inner perimeter that defines an unsealed pouch area for containing the product and an outer perimeter; and a header zone adjacent to the outer perimeter of the product seal zone. The header zone includes a first tab; a second tab; a first tab-cut in the first layer within an unsealed portion of the header zone; and a second tab-cut in the second layer within the unsealed portion of the header zone. A package that includes a housing portion, a handling portion and a separation feature. The separation feature facilitates separation of the handling and housing portions. The separation feature includes a first release layer and a second release layer adjacent to the first release layer provided between the first and second films at an overlapping portion of the housing portion and the handling portion.

A package containing a stack of folded disposable absorbent articles, the package being formed of flexible polymeric film, and having a path of perforations or scoring defining a serpentine-shape, is disclosed. The serpentine-shaped path may be located proximate the fold noses of the articles in the stack for easy tactile identification, grasping and withdrawal of individual ones thereof, and may be configured so as to cause opening flaps defined by the path to effectively draw to a closed position following access to the contents within, whereby the package may be used to store the unused supply of articles following opening. The package, and printed commercial artwork and product information on the package surfaces, may be configured such that the fold noses are disposed at the apparent bottom of the package, for improved standing stability when the package is shelved.

A pouch according to an embodiment is a pouch having an accommodation space that accommodates contents, and including a pair of sheets, and a pair of side seal portions sealed to form the accommodation space, wherein at least one of the pair of side seal portions includes a first seal portion located near the top portion, a second seal portion located near the bottom portion and separated from the first seal portion, and a steam discharge seal portion configured to connect the first and second seal portions, to protrude to the accommodation space side, and to release steam, a portion formed by a first region between the first and second seal portions and a second region surrounded by the first region and the steam discharge seal portion is an unsealed region, and a penetration portion that passes through at least one sheet in a thickness direction is formed in the unsealed region of the at least one sheet.

A container for a paint applicator and a method for using same is disclosed herein. The container comprises: a first layer having a top edge, opposing sidewalls, and a bottom edge; and a second layer having a top edge, opposing sidewalls, and a bottom edge. The sidewalls of the first and second layers being sealed together and the bottom edges being partially sealed to form a rupturable seam having an aperture formed therein. The sidewalls, bottom edge, and top edge defining an enclosed interior for stowing a paint applicator. The applicator is stowable within the container by inserting the applicator through the top end and projecting a handle thereof through the aperture. Upon pulling the handle through the aperture, the seam ruptures, thereby allowing the applicator to be removed from the container.

A package (10) containing a food product (12) is provided where the package is configured to facilitate opening by using the food product to initiate opening of the package. The package includes an outer wrapper (14) with a line of weakness (34) that is generally aligned with or above an upper profile of the food product such that when the wrapper is pulled against the food product one or more stress concentrations is created along the line of weakness. The stress concentrations facilitate initiation of tearing or rupturing along the line of weakness (34) such that a portion of the package can be completely or at least partially removed to expose at least a portion of the food product (12).

A triangular package includes three sides and two end tab each covering a portion of an end of the triangular package. A method of forming a triangular package includes bending side portions of stock material to form the sides of the triangular packaging and shrink wrapping the triangular package causing tabs to cover portions of the triangular package ends.

Medical indicia (1316,1317,1318,1319,1320,1321) is disposed along each pocket. The medical indicia can include comprising one or more educational prompts that instruct medical personnel how to use a particular medical implement disposed in a pocket to complete a central catheter dressing change.
