Sealed single-dose break-open package and relative production method
A sealed single-dose break-open package having: a first sheet of semi-rigid plastic material; a second sheet of flexible plastic material superposed on and sealed to the first sheet to define a sealed pocket that contains a dose of a product; and a weakened zone that is made in a central zone of the first sheet for guiding, after bending of the sealed package, controlled breaking of the first sheet at the weakened zone in such a way as to cause the formation of an outlet opening for the product through the first sheet. The weakened zone comprises at least one incision that is made in a surface of the first sheet and extends along a single line that is open and does not cross itself. The incision comprises a “U”-shaped central part and two lateral parts that are positioned on opposite sides of the central part and connect to the central part.
FLEXIBLE PACKAGING STRUCTURE WITH BUILT-IN TAMPER-EVIDENCE FEATURES AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
A flexible packaging laminate has built-in opening/reclose and tamper-evidence features by forming the laminate from an outer structure joined in face-to-face relation to an inner structure. Score lines are formed in both structures to enable an opening to be formed through the laminate by lifting a flap or the like out of the plane of the laminate. The score line through the outer structure defines a larger opening than the score line through the inner structure, such that a marginal region of the outer structure extends beyond the edge of the opening portion of the inner structure. A pressure-sensitive adhesive is used to re-adhere the marginal region to an underlying surface of the inner structure adjacent the opening through the laminate. The outer score line includes at least one tab positioned within a heat seal region of the laminate.
Flexible resealable packages
Resealable packages having a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) layer that is fully integrated into the packaging film and a removable portion easily accessed by a peel tab at the edge of the package, adjacent to a score. Removal of a portion of the package exposes the pressure sensitive adhesive layer and allows for access to the product in the package interior. The package is easily resealed by folding the exposed pressure sensitive adhesive layer to adhere to the outer surface of the package.
Easy-open flow-wrap package
The present invention is directed to a peel-open, non-reclosable package formed from a single thermoplastic laminate comprising a first film laminated to a second film by a lamination film or lamination layer. The package includes a peelable heat-seal seam adhering an interior surface of a first sealing section of the interior package surface to an interior surface of a second sealing section of the interior package surface. The package also includes an asymmetric cross-sectional seal interface formed at the peelable heat-seal seam by disjoining a segment of the first film from the first sealing section prior to heat sealing the first and second sealing sections together.
MEDICAL DEVICE PACKAGING CONTAINER AND PACKAGED MEDICAL DEVICE
A medical device packaging container includes a tray, a sheet-like lid portion having an annular flange portion, and an annular heat seal portion. The annular heat seal portion includes a first-side seal portion, a second-side seal portion, a third-side seal portion, and a fourth-side seal portion. The first-side seal portion includes a central seal portion, a first side-part seal portion, and a second side-part seal portion. The central seal portion includes central seal extension portions, the first side-part seal portion includes a first side-part seal extension portion, and the second side-part seal portion includes a second side-part seal extension portion.
FLEXIBLE PACKAGING STRUCTURE
The invention comprises a packaging structure which hermetically encloses a product prior to initial opening. The packaging structure comprises a line of weakness which defines a removable portion and a marginal region circumscribing the removable portion. A flap having a central region and a peripheral region is affixed to the packaging structure. At least a portion of the central region of the flap is affixed to the packaging structure via permanent adhesive and is aligned with the removable portion of the packaging structure. The peripheral region of the flap is affixed to the packaging structure via peelable adhesive and is aligned with the marginal region of the packaging structure.
Wrap for smoking articles with a reusable closing portion
A wrap for smoking articles, which encloses a group of smoking articles and has, at the top and at the front, a first extraction opening obtained through the wrap by means of a “U”-shaped through cut. The first extraction opening is normally closed by a reusable closing portion, which consists of the part of the wrap surrounded by the through cut and it can be lifted to free the first extraction opening and then lowered again to engage the first extraction opening. A support element is comprised, which is arranged inside the wrap at the first extraction opening, it is glued to the wrap at least by means of a re-stick glue, and it has a second extraction opening, which is smaller than the first extraction opening and it is entirely contained in the first extraction opening.
Method for use in making a blister package lid
Approaches for use in making a lid for a blister package include forming a continuous pattern of electrically conductive wire on an adhesive surface of a substrate. The continuous pattern has a plurality of detector segments, and each detector segment has an outer connector portion and an inner connector portion. The outer connector portion and the inner connector portion of each detector segment are adjacent to one another, and pairs of successive first and second detector segments of the plurality of detector segments are connected by the inner connector portion of the first detector segment and the outer connector portion of the second detector segment. The forming includes forming an arced segment between the inner connector portion of the first detector segment and the outer connector portion of the second detector segment.
Flexible packaging structure with a built-in opening and reclose feature
A flexible packaging laminate is formed to have a built-in opening and reclose feature by forming the laminate as a two-part structure having an outer structure joined in face-to-face relation with an inner structure. Score lines are formed in both structures to enable an opening to be formed through the laminate by lifting an opening portion (e.g., a flap or the like) of the two structures out of the plane of the laminate.
Reclosable bag and methods of forming and using the same
A reclosable bag includes: first and second plies extending from a first side to a second side and from atop bottom to a top; a seal joining the first and second plies arranged near the bottom of the bag; a reclosing material disposed on an interior surface of one of the first and second plies; a release material disposed between the reclosing material and the other of the first and second plies; and a bag opening zone extending between the top and the bottom.
