A cooling passage is formed between the tray sidewall and the base sidewall. The cooling passage cover wall is removably positionable to extend between the tray sidewall and the base sidewall over the cooling passage. An opening extends through the tray sidewall, the opening providing fluid communication between the cooling passage and the tray interior volume.

A cardboard package has a container formed from a first cardboard sheet, a first wall extending between the proximal and distal ends, and a second wall opposing the first wall and extending between the proximal and distal ends, a first recess in one of the first wall or the second wall, and a first protrusion extending inwardly from the one of the first wall or the second wall, the first protrusion positioned proximal of the first recess. The cardboard package has a tray formed from a second cardboard sheet, the tray having a first resilient member in one of a first wall or a second wall, the first resilient member shaped and positioned to removably engage the first protrusion in the container, whereby the tray is maintained in a closed position.

The seat portion can maintain a normal state of each packaged goods and prevent collision of the packaged goods.

The package comprises a wrapping housed at least partially inside the compartment; the wrapping is configurable between a first operative position wherein the wrapping is completely housed in the compartment of the container and a second operative position wherein part of the wrapping is arranged outside the inner volume of the compartment: the wrapping, in the second operative position, exhibiting at least one portion housed in the inner volume of the compartment. The container comprises a stop element placed inside the compartment, emerging, from at least one lateral wall of the compartment, inside this latter in order to define a projection. The wrapping comprises at least one abutment element configured for abutting against the stop element of the container, for preventing the wrapping from being completely extracted from the container.

The carton has a base tray and hinged lid, the tray including a plurality of cells for receiving individual eggs, and the tray having a plurality of cell posts each formed at an intersection of four adjacent cells as an extension of the sidewalls of the four adjacent cells. Preferable, each cell post has four generally planar ramp surfaces, one disposed respectively on each of the four sidewall extensions. The lid has a plurality of lid posts for mating with the cell posts when the lid is in a closed position.

A starch based biodegradable insulation material fills the void therebetween, such that the shipping container is made entirely of biodegradable material, yet is sturdy and has insulative properties.
