Lightweight Container Base
A container including an opening defined by a finish portion, and a base at an end of the container opposite to the opening. The base includes a standing ring extending inward from a heal to a center pushup portion. The center pushup portion includes an pushup ring surrounding an inversion portion. In an as-blown position the inversion portion extends outward and beyond the pushup ring such that the inversion portion is further from the opening than the pushup ring. In a final position the inversion portion is inverted relative to the as-blown position such that the inversion portion extends inward so as to be closer to the opening than the pushup ring. The inversion portion is mechanically moved from the as-blown position to the filled position with an inversion device after the container has been filled to reduce vacuum or increase pressure within the container.
Plastic Container with Flexible Base Portion
Plastic container (110), including a side wall (120) and a flexible portion (132) of a base (130). The flexible portion of the base deflects when the sealed plastic container experiences a differential pressure. The deflection of the flexible portion of the base acts to change the internal volume of the container and thereby reduce the differential pressure. The container is a retortable container. The container may be injection-molded with inner and outer plastic layers (460,462) and a core layer (464) between the inner and outer plastic layers.
Method Of Processing A Plastic Container Including A Multi-Functional Base
A container can have a body with an integrally formed base attached to the body. The base includes a concave annular wall extending from the container sidewall to a standing surface, and an inner wall extending from the standing surface to a substantially flat inner annular wall. The inner annular wall is recessed in the base and is substantially perpendicular to the container sidewall. The inner annular wall includes a centrally located dimple. The dimple includes a plurality of spaced apart and radially extending indented ribs. One or more of the ribs extend radially into a brace that tapers to meet the inner annular wall.
VACUUM BASE FOR CONTAINER
A container including a finish, a shoulder portion, a sidewall, and a base portion. The finish defines an opening. The shoulder portion extends from the finish. The sidewall extends from the shoulder portion and defines a volume of the container. The base portion is at an end of the sidewall opposite to the shoulder portion. The base portion includes a primary standing ring and a secondary standing ring. The base portion is movable from an as-blown position to an expanded position and from the expanded position to a retracted position. In the as-blown and retracted positions the primary standing ring is configured to support the container upright. In the expanded position the secondary standing ring is configured to support the container upright.
BOTTLE
A bottle includes a bottom wall portion of a bottom portion, grounding portion at an outer circumferential edge, rising circumferential wall portion continuous with grounding portion from the bottle radial inner side, and movable wall portion protrudes from the rising circumferential wall portion upper end. The movable wall portion movable upward around a connected portion to the rising circumferential wall portion. Plurality of ribs are radially disposed around bottle axis on the movable wall portion, and ribs include main recess that is recessed upward, and connection recess. Plurality of main recesses arranged at predetermined intervals in the bottle radial direction, and connection recess connects main recesses, adjacent to each other in the bottle radial direction, in the bottle radial direction together. A depth ratio D2/D1 that is the ratio of a depth (D2) of the connection recess to a depth (D1) of each main recess <2/9 and 1.
Bottle
A tubular bottle is formed of a synthetic resin material having a bottom part. A bottom wall part of the bottom part includes a grounding part located at an outer circumferential edge thereof, a standing peripheral wall part which is connected from a radial inner side of the bottle to the grounding part and which extends upward, a movable wall part that protrudes, from an upper end of the standing peripheral wall part, toward the radial inner side, and a depression peripheral wall part that extends upward from an inner end of the movable wall part in a radial direction of the bottle. The movable wall part is arranged so as to be movable upward centering on a portion connected to the standing peripheral wall part. An upward swelling part is formed at an outer end along the radial direction of the bottle of the movable wall part.
WAVE-TYPE PRESSURE COMPENSATING BASES FOR POLYMERIC CONTAINERS
A plastic container having a sidewall defining a chamber and having a first end and a second end and an opening at the first end into the chamber. A base of the container extends from the sidewall and closes the second end, the base having an outer perimeter portion defining a support structure, an axially inwardly extending perimeter wall spaced radially inwardly from the support structure forming an angle with a horizontal line of greater than about 80, a centrally disposed pushup section in the shape of an axially inwardly extending truncated cone, and a toroidal-shaped channel circumscribing and connecting the perimeter wall to the pushup section. The toroidal-shaped channel has a surface that is asymmetrical about a central axis of the container when the container is under static pressure conditions.
Double-layered container
A double-layered container including an inner and outer container. A mouth, body and bottom portion respectively extend from top to bottom along a bottle axis. An outside air introduction hole is provided. A diameter of an intermediate portion between an upper and lower end of the body portion is smaller than a diameter of the lower end portion. The intermediate and lower end portions are connected via a step portion. A bottom wall portion includes a ground contact portion and depressed portion. A distance of the outer container inner surface from a connection portion to an outer peripheral edge portion of the ground contact portion in a vertical cross-sectional view along the bottle axis is 1.15 times or less a distance along the outer container inner surface and the bottle axis to an inner peripheral edge portion of the ground contact portion in the vertical cross-sectional view.
Wineglass, a method of packaging wine, and a wine container
The invention relates to a method of packaging wine in a container essentially consisting of a plastics material glass closed by a lid, wherein a lid is sealed to the rim of the glass and, while sealing the lid, the container is deformed to reduce the volume of the head space.
Base of a plastic container
A plastic container has a base portion adapted for vacuum absorption, the container including a base and a body extending up from the base along a central axis to a finish portion defining a mouth. The base includes an outside wall, a chime connecting the outside wall to an annular contact ring, an inside wall extending upward from the contact ring to a hinge, and a diaphragm connected to the hinge. The diaphragm can move between first and second positions in response to pressure change within the container. The diaphragm includes a central region and a flexible wall having a curved profile in cross section. The flexible wall curves downward from the hinge to the central region. In some embodiments, the flexible wall is asymmetric and includes a first portion having a curved profile and a second portion having a linear profile. A container wall structure is also disclosed.
