Movable spout for an aquarium
An aquarium includes a container defining a perimeter and an aquarium space, a filter space arranged to receive a fluid, and a filter holder coupled to the container. The filter holder defines the filter space and is operable to direct the fluid from the filter space into the container. A pump operates to draw the fluid from the container and a spout is coupled to the pump to selectively receive the fluid. The spout includes a first leg that extends along a first axis and a second leg that extends along a second axis and defines an outlet, The spout is movable along the first axis between an on position in which fluid from the pump flows through the spout and is discharged through the outlet and an off position in which no fluid flows through the spout.
SELF-CLEANING PRE-FILTER FOR A WATER CIRCULATION PUMP
An exemplary water circulation pump pre-filter unit (PFU) comprises a backwash pipe in fluid communication with an outer nozzle outside a screen cage and an inner nozzle within the screen cage. The PFU may simultaneously spray inside and outside the screen cage using an inner nozzle and an outer nozzle configured with an axial jet perpendicular to a plurality of radial jets. The inner nozzle may have a restriction chamber with diameter decreasing in flow direction to a full cone nozzle outlet, concentrating dual streams from a plurality of inlets swirled through a plurality of helical channels. Pairs of inner nozzles may be angled to each other, increasing the inner surface area cleaned. Exemplary implementations may simultaneously clean the screen cage bottom and top using the outer nozzle and inner nozzles in backwash mode and in a separate pre-filter mode ingest water through multiple filter pipe inlet apertures.

A foldable aquaponics, and greenhouse container system and method, includes an insulated shipping container having foldable insulated roof panel disposed thereover; a foldable glazing on a sun facing side at an angle to maximize winter sunlight attached to the roof panel; a foldable floor panel attached to the container with a foldable vent panel attached thereto connecting to the glazing; foldable side panels attached to sides of the container, glazing and roof panel; a plant growing under the glazing; a mushroom growing area within the container having an integrated water wall thermal mass and disposed between the plant and mushroom growing areas; a fish tank within the container; and a natural air ventilation system within the container under the roof panel to provide CO2 and O2 gas exchange between the mushroom growing area and the plant growing area.
SKIMMER FOR AQUARIUMS
A skimmer (1) for aquariums comprises a base (10) and a container (20) which is provided with at least two lateral connectors (21, 22) which comprise a main connector (22) and an auxiliary connector (21). The skimmer further comprises a cup (30), in which the foam is collected. The base comprises at least four openings, a first opening (11) and a second opening (12) opening inside the container (20) and being connected to a third opening (13) and a fourth opening (14), respectively, so that the skimmer can operate at least in two different configurations: a first single-pump configuration and a second double-pump configuration.
Aquaculture system with improved feed transportation and method for transporting feed in an aquaculture system
An aquaculture system including a fish holding unit which is fluidly connected to a water recirculation conduit, a water treatment unit, a water inlet, and a feed storage unit. The system further includes a feed loading section. When feed is added into the system at the feed loading section it is transported to the fish holding unit. In another aspect the invention relates to a method of transporting a feed in a recirculated aquaculture system.
BRACKET FOR USE WITH ROUNDED AQUARIUMS AND METHODS
A bracket for removable attachment to a round rim of an aquarium allows for secure and stable attachment of an aquarium filter to an aquarium having a round opening. The bracket has a first piece for removable attachment to the round rim and has a pair of lips sized to hold the round rim. The bracket also includes a second piece with a flexible clip removably attached to the first piece.
Pond culture circulation system based on bio-toilet module
Disclosed is a pond culture circulation system based on a bio-toilet module including a culture pond and an annular treatment channel surrounding the culture pond. The annular treatment channel is sequentially provided with a sedimentation zone, a biological purification zone and a water storage zone along a direction of water flow. The culture pond includes a plurality of culture pond units. Each of the plurality of culture pond units is provided with a bio-toilet module in communication with the sedimentation zone through a sewage pipe. The water storage zone communicates with each of the plurality of culture pond units through a gravity-flow culvert. The invention further discloses a use method of the pond culture circulation system based on the bio-toilet module.
MEMBRANE, MEMBRANE CONTACTOR, APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REMOVAL OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN FROM FLUID
A hollow fiber membrane for removal of dissolved oxygen from fluid that is made of a porous hydrophobic material and an apparatus for controlling nitrate concentration level in water comprising a membrane contactor having the membrane, the membrane comprises at least one tubular fiber comprising: an outer wall for contacting fluid external to the tubular fiber; at least three inner channel walls for contacting fluid internal of the tubular fiber, wherein each inner channel wall forms a fluid communicating channel; a plurality of pores, wherein pores proximate to surfaces of the outer wall and each inner channel wall are smaller in size than pores non-proximate to said surfaces of the outer wall and each inner channel wall, wherein a central portion of the tubular fiber has a thickness greater than thickness of the tubular fiber outside the central portion.
Safety system for a fish-tank siphon
A safety system for a fish-tank siphon is an apparatus used to prevent suction of a fish-tank-cleaning siphon from becoming obstructed by fish, underwater plant life, rocks, or other large tank contaminants. The apparatus is configured to protect the intake by preventing potential obstructions from entering the siphon at all. The apparatus includes a grate, a mating mechanism, and a siphon inlet. The grate acts as a protective filter, preventing large items from entering a connected fish-tank-cleaning siphon. The mating mechanism allows for connection of the present invention to a fish-tank-cleaning siphon. The siphon inlet is a section of the fish-tank-cleaning siphon through which the vacuum is applied in order to remove dirty water and water contaminants. The general configuration of these components allows the apparatus to prevent a fish-tank-cleaning siphon from incidentally collecting fish or other underwater creatures, plant life, pebbles, or other contaminants while vacuum-cleaning a fish tank.
