Aquarium with adjustable lighting
An aquarium having an adjustable lighting system for enhancing the display of fluorescent objects, such as fluorescent fish, contained within the aquarium under various external lighting conditions, such as a dark room or a brightly lit room. The aquarium comprises a tank and a plurality of light sources. Each light source emits light at a different wavelength spectrum which is selected to enhance the display of the fluorescent object under each type of external lighting condition. An electronic control is provided to control the operation of the plurality of light sources such that each light source may be selectively turned on/off based on the external lighting condition, or chronological criteria, to provide the best viewing experience.
Scalable Aquaculture and Hydroponic (Aquaponics) Production Systems
An aquaponics system utilizing_portable hydroponic growing apparatus suspended over an aquatic holding vessel. The vessel is filled with water and stocked with aquatic organisms. A pump of sufficient lift connects to plumbing which runs over the top of the portable hydroponic apparatus. The hydroponics apparatus are suspended directly over the water vessel in such a way that the water drips back into the holding vessel below. Drip rate control emitters maybe installed to regulate the flow of water from the pump. This embodiment works well for low to medium intensity production. For higher intensity production, dedicated filtration and aeration devices are added.
DECOUPLED MULTI-TROPHIC PRODUCTION FACILITY WITH BIO REACTOR UNIT
A facility for growing vegetation, the facility (1) comprising at least one container (2) for taking aquatic animals and/or aquatic organisms, at least one hydroponic part (13), at least one device for water and/or substance circulation (17) whereby the facility (1) further comprises at least one bio reactor unit (10).
Installation and method for farming of fish
An installation for the farming of fish is described and also a method to establish a water reservoir for the farming of the fish.
MICROORGANISM BASED RECIRCULATING AQUACULTURE SYSTEM
A recirculating aquaculture system comprising a microorganism growing apparatus and a method of using microorganisms to remove a pollutant from a fluid utilized in a recirculating aquaculture system. Furthermore, the microorganisms are harvested and used as a foodstuff fertilizer, biofuels, and bioplastics.
Aquaculture systems and methods
An aquaculture system can include stacked growth trays. Animals, such as shrimp, can be transferred between the growth trays for different stages of growth. Waste water can be removed from the growth trays and can be processed by a water treatment system. Treated water can be returned to the growth trays. A valve in a first configuration can permit water to circulate through the growth tray, while impeding the animals from exiting the growth tray. In a second configuration, the valve can permit the animals to exit the growth tray, such as for transition to a subsequent growth tray. A sweeper system can be used for cleaning and/or mixing the water in the growth tray, and/or for pushing the animals out of the growth tray during a transition.
Aquarium filter housing unit
An aquarium filter housing unit includes a top chamber composed of a fluid impeller housing and a fluid impeller, as well as a bottom chamber for a replaceable filter cartridge. The top chamber and the bottom chamber are formed as separate units and are held together via a friction fit along a bottom edge of the top chamber and a top edge of the bottom chamber. The bottom chamber includes a plurality of bottom chamber sidewalls and a base wall, wherein a door is provided for selectively accessing the filter cartridge held within in the bottom chamber.
DECOUPLED MULTI-TROPHIC PRODUCTION FACILITY WITH DISTILLATION UNIT
A facility for growing vegetation, the facility comprising at least one container for taking aquatic animals and/or aquatic organisms (2), at least one hydroponic part (13), at least one device for water and/or substance circulation (17) whereby the facility further comprises at least one unit (16) for distillation.
AQUARIUM FILTER ARRANGEMENT WITH CONTROL VALVE
A filter arrangement for an aquarium is disclosed. The filter arrangement can include a housing assembly, a pump assembly, a transfer tube assembly, and a valve assembly for controlling water flow through the transfer tube assembly. The transfer tube assembly can include a tube structure within which a valve body of the valve assembly is rotatably disposed. The tube structure can be formed from a first tube half mated to a second tube half to permanently secure the valve body within the tube structure. A valve operator can be connected to the valve body to advantageously allow a user to manipulate the flow of water through the transfer tube assembly. Control of water flow through the filter arrangement is beneficial for obtaining a desired water flow for a certain aquarium size and application and for reducing flow during certain periods, such as during feeding.
Indoor shrimp aquaculture system and method
A system for indoor shrimp aquaculture is described that comprises a plurality of stacked raceways, each raceway being a long, flat rectangular tank comprising at least two sections arranged in series and scaled to accommodate shrimp of increasing size. The sections are separated by a moveable section divider whereby shrimp may be transferred between sections once they reach a predetermined size by opening the moveable section divider and allowing the shrimp and water to flow through into the next section. Each raceway includes a waste collection assembly situated at the downstream end of each section for collecting waste for removal. Methods of using the system to grow shrimp are also provided. The raceways are further adapted to facilitate operation of the production module at large scales, in this way; the system is scaleable to achieve high-throughput production of shrimp.
