PACKAGING SYSTEM FOR SHIPPING FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS
20170217668 · 2017-08-03 ·

A packaging system for shipping floral arrangements includes an elongated presentation box sized to hold a floral arrangement, such as a dozen roses. The presentation box includes two long side panels, a floor panel extending between the side panels, head end and a stem end panels each extending between the side and floor panels, a top opening defined by the side and end panels, and an elongated inner lid hingedly connected on one of its long sides to one of the side panels. The inner lid extends longitudinally from a first end adjacent to the stem end panel to a second end spaced away from the head end panel such that it folds over only a portion of the top opening and creates a presentation opening bounded by the head end panel, side panels and the second end of the inner lid for displaying the flowers of the floral arrangement.

Flat screen display device packaging system and method

A packaging system and method that can be used to protect a display device. The packaging system includes a front foam panel, a base foam panel and a back foam panel, and two different types of foam for the panels. The base foam panel supports the weight of the display device and absorbs vibrations. The front foam panel protects the screen of the display device by spreading loads over a wider area and reducing the risk of the screen cracking. A back foam panel is made of a lower density foam and supports the display device rear panel in position while taking up the different shapes of the rear panels and allows for variation in thicknesses between different models.

Vehicle fuel tank for improved crashworthiness

A fuel tank in a vehicle. The fuel tank includes a protective outer shell and an inner shell. The protective outer shell has an inner shell receiving area. The inner shell, which holds fuel, is housed in the inner shell receiving area of the outer shell. The inner shell cooperates with the outer shell to maintain the position of the inner shell relative to the outer shell and relative to the vehicle during normal operation. During an impact to the vehicle, the inner shell moves independent of the outer shell and the vehicle, allowing a portion of the energy or the forces associated with an impact to be absorbed by the outer shell, reducing the energy or force transferred to the inner shell.

STRUCTURAL FOAM FOR PACKAGING
20210403218 · 2021-12-30 ·

A packaging material is provided which is comprised of a plank of structural foam and a plurality of vertical interior voids defined in the plank. The ratio of the height of each interior void is between about 60% and about 65% of the height of the plank, and the diameter of each interior void is between about 55% and about 65% of the height of the void. Each interior void has a bottom portion defining a conical dome shape. The dome-shaped interior voids advantageously allow for the use of lower cost lower, lower density material to be used to archive the same performance as higher density, or higher cost materials. When the structural foam has a material density of 1.2# it exhibits properties of structural foam having a material density of 2.2#, and when the structural foam has a material density of 2.2# it exhibits properties of structural foam having a material density of 4.0#.
