System and method for preserving food during storage and transportation

A method and system in which an oxygen concentrator, which removes O2 from ambient air and exhausts the oxygen-depleted, nitrogen-rich air, is used in combination with an enclosed cargo storage or transportation container to replace the oxygen-rich ambient air within the container with nitrogen-rich ambient air that will retard spoilation of cargo that is prone to oxygen-induced spoilation, such as fruits and vegetables.

VENTILATED CONTAINER FOR PRODUCE
20250187813 · 2025-06-12 ·

A ventilated container for produce includes a bottom, sidewalls extending upwardly from the bottom, and a rim having a flattened top surface. The sidewalls include at least one ventilation opening located proximate the rim of the container thereby permitting the rim of the container to be generally flat and uninterrupted. The location of ventilation opening(s) proximate the rim of the container allows the flow of rising ethylene gas within the container to exit near the top of the container improving ventilation within the container. A plastic film can be applied over the top of the container and is adhered to the container with an adhesive to form a secure and rigid seal between the film and the container. The flattened surface of the rim improves the adherence between a film and the container to enclose and seal the container, aids the rigidity of the container, and lessens the likelihood of the edges of the rim being bent or folded when pressure is exerted to protect produce provided within the container. Moreover, an aperture on the bottom of the container provides drainage of liquid from the container and allow air to flow.

AIR FLOW CONTROL SYSTEM FOR PACKAGING

An air flow control system for packaging, which facilitates the passage of air currents into the packaging in which it is used in any direction of the X, Y and Z axes, allowing to maintain a sufficient air flow to prevent deterioration of the products contained inside, being also adapted to interact jointly with other similar packaging arranged adjacently and/or stacked, and/or grouped in packing, in such a way that in all and each of the packing, a necessary and sufficient air flow is maintained for the good conservation of the products.

Storage containers include a body with an interior space and a lid, connected at an edge to the body. A dehumidifier is in the interior space, configured to dehumidify air within the interior space. An actuator, mounted between the body and the lid, is configured to lift the lid when an arm of the actuator extends. Actuator control circuitry is configured to extend the arm of the actuator responsive to a received signal.

PRODUCT TRANSPORT CONTAINERS
20250207845 · 2025-06-26 ·

Product transport containers are disclosed. Such containers can provide one or more advantages compared to existing containers. For example, product transport containers described herein can maintain a product at a desired temperature for an extended period of time, including without the use of an active heating or cooling component. Such product transport containers described herein may also provide improved breathability, thermal insulation, and/or mechanical strength or dimensional stability. Such containers can include a plurality of walls defining an interior volume and a selectively openable side permitting movement of the product into and out of the interior volume of the container. The walls can be formed from a thermoformed non-woven fabric.

VENT/PERFORATION ARRANGEMENT ON A PAPER AND FOIL COMBINATION BAG

A food package may include a plurality of perforations. The plurality of perforations can be sized, shaped, and/or positioned on the food package so the food package is configured to maintain a temperature of foodstuff in the food package above a predetermined temperature for a predetermined period of time. The plurality of perforations can be sized and/or shaped so the foodstuff loses less than a predetermined weight after the predetermined period of time.

Food container and method and system for making and using the same

Containers for food, and methods and systems for making and using the same. An exemplary container for food can include an insulated tray including one or more sub-units and one or more heat sink units configured to store the food and fit in the tray. An alternative container can include a container base and a receptacle fitting in the container base, the container base including one or more thermal function pieces therein for maintaining a temperature of the receptacle. An alternative container can include a serving base defining one or more slots for holding the food items, respectively, and a cover configured to cooperate with the serving base, wherein at least the serving base, or at least the cover, includes a thermal function piece, the thermal function piece including a phase-change material. An exemplary method for using the container includes treating the phase-change material to an initial temperature.

Container for transporting and inoculating pupae

The invention refers to a container (1) that can be used for storing, transporting and for inoculating silk-free pupae. The container (1) includes a tray (2) having a flat surface (5) and a plurality of wells (4) formed on the surface (5), wherein each well (4) is configured for accommodating a pupa (8). The container (1) also includes a lid (3) having a plurality of openings (6), wherein the tray (2) and the lid (3) are configured to be coupled to each other, such that the lid (3) is placed on the flat surface (5), at least partially, closing the wells (4). The wells (4) and the openings (6) are arranged, such that when the tray (2) and the lid (3) are coupled together, each well (4) is accessible through one of the plurality of openings (6). The container is stackable for an optimum and cost-efficient secure transportation.

Contaminant Resistant Product Packaging (Con)
20250276840 · 2025-09-04 ·

Embodiments are directed toward a product package filter assembly that prevents ambient contaminates from entering into the sealable product container. In some embodiments, the product package filter assembly includes an optional support element, a filter element, and a surface film element that are layered together with the filter element between the support element and the surface film element. The perimeters of the support element, the filter element, and the surface film element are sealably joined together. The product package filter assembly is then sealably joined over an opening of a product container. During heating of a product residing in the product container, gases generated in the product container vent out through the product package filter assembly, while the filter element prevents entry of contamination particles into the product container.
