FLEXIBLE PACKAGE FOR PACKING FRESH PRODUCE MADE FROM A BIODEGRADABLE FLEXIBLE FILM
The present invention relates to a package made from biodegradable polymeric flexible film for packaging fresh produce. The package includes at least a pair of opposite panels configured to form a receptacle. The package comprises plurality of apertures which are configured to provide a modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) for the fresh produce. The said film of package in conjunction with MAP facilitates humidity exchange through the polymeric structure of the film and controlled exchange of oxygen, carbon dioxide and other gases suitable for fresh produce, inside the package.
PACKAGE FOR PRESERVING RESPIRING PRODUCE AND METHOD
A package for preserving respiring produce contained in the package, in particular vegetables, fruit, herbs, spices and/or flowers, and an associated method are provided. The package defines a package volume for containing a portion of the produce and a package atmosphere, and comprises a packaging material, in particular a polymer film (1A), provided with at least one perforation (3) enabling gas exchange with the atmosphere surrounding the package (1) to form the package into a Controlled Atmosphere Package (CAP). The packaging material has a Water Vapour Transmission Rate (WVTR), a carbon dioxide transmission rate (CO.sub.2TR) and an oxygen transmission rate (O.sub.2TR), wherein the WVTR of the packaging material is in a range of 50-1200 ml/(m.sup.2.Math.24 hrs), the CO.sub.2TR of the packaging material is larger than 1000 ml/(m.sup.2.Math.24 hrs), and a ratio β=CO.sub.2TR/O.sub.2TR of the packaging material is larger than 4.
STERILIZATION PACKAGING, A METHOD FOR PACKAGING A PRODUCT THEREIN, AND A METHOD FOR THE REMOVAL OF A PRODUCT FROM SAID PACKAGING
Packaging for sterile packaging a product, comprising a bag shaped body with two main surfaces that are mutually gas tight at at least part of their peripheral edges comprising a gas non-permeable material. At least part of the main surfaces comprises a gas permeable material part of a pore size that locks out harmful organisms and comprises a gas tight material part that is positioned between two peripheral edges that extend in a longitudinal direction and between the gas permeable material part and a peripheral edge that extends in a transverse direction.
Humidity Control Package
A humidity controlled package that uses a humidity sensitive valve that opens and closes an opening to control a humidity in the package. The package has a package holding area inside the package. The humidity level in the package controls the valve to open to allow air flow between an inside of the valve and an outside of the valve, and close to prevent air flow between the inside and outside of the valve. At least part of the valve is in the package. In one embodiment, the package is vented when the humidity value gets higher than a setpoint. In another embodiment, a sachet of dessicant is opened by the humidity level.
FOOD PACKAGING
The present invention relates to a layered packaging film for fresh produce. The film provides a water vapour transmission rate of at least 30 g m.sup.−2 per day, and includes a polymer layer with a sealing temperature of 205° C. or less. The present invention also provides a comprising fresh produce enclosed by a packaging film, wherein the packaging film is sealed by an elongate seal extending along the underside of the package, and wherein the elongate seal has a sealing strength such that when the packaging film is lifted from the upper side of the fresh produce package the seal breaks permitting the packaging film to be removed from the fresh produce in a single lifting action.
Composition and method for active packaging and storage of fresh plant products
The present invention relates to a composition and method for active packaging of fresh plant products, in particular fresh plant based food products. The invention also relates to means for storage of fresh plant products and to a method for continuous production and controlled release of volatile oxidation products of lipids in packages or in the vicinity of fresh plant based goods.
SPORTS MOUTHGUARD CARRY CASE
A mouthguard carry case (10) comprising: an outer shell (12) having a hollow interior defined by an open top, an open bottom and a plurality of side walls (14). The mouthguard carry case (10) also comprises an inner shell (18) having a hollow interior defined by a top wall (20), a bottom wall (22) and plurality of side walls (24). The inner shell (18) is slidably received within the hollow interior of the outer shell (12) and is movable between an open position, and a closed position. Advantageously the mouthguard carry case (10) can be opened and closed in one hand, and is fully ventilated to promote drying and inhibit the growth of oral bacteria.
Inflatable packaging with apertures
An inflatable packaging element is disclosed herein. The inflatable packaging element includes a first film ply and second film ply overlayed on the first ply, and a seal pattern. The seal pattern has a plurality of seals sealing the first and second plies to each other to define an inflation chamber between the first and second plies. The inflation chamber is inflatable with and configured to contain a fluid. An aperture extends through at least one of the first or second ply, and the seal pattern separates opposite side of the aperture from the inflation chamber.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF STORING PRODUCE
A system and method for storing, shipping, preserving and ripening produce. Packaging of respiring produce, particularly avocados, in sealed tray systems. The tray systems include a lower bowl-shaped tray having an upper lip to which a flexible film is adhered. The flexible film has an aperture covered by a breathable membrane. The film permits passage of water vapor to reduce the chance of mold formation during packaging and shipping. The breathable membrane controls gaseous exchange at different temperatures and has pores that open above the threshold temperature. The breathable membrane alters the O.sub.2 and CO.sub.2 within the tray above the threshold temperature, thus slowing up the ripening process at elevated temperatures.
GAS DISCHARGE VALVE FOR PACKAGING MATERIAL
Proposed is a gas discharge valve for a packaging material, the gas discharge valve being attached on an upper surface of a packing material in a manner that covers a through-hole formed in one side of the packing material and being configured to discharge to the outside thereof only gas within the packing material, the gas discharge valve including: a high-adhesiveness layer attached to an external surface of the packing material and adhered to a portion of the external surface in the vicinity of the through-hole; and a low-adhesiveness layer formed inside the high-adhesiveness layer and adhered to cover a top opening of the through-hole, where, when gas occurs within the packing material, the low-adhesiveness layer is inflated by pressure, a portion thereof is raised, and the gas is discharged, and when the pressure is released, the low-adhesiveness layer seals the through-hole, thereby blocking introduction of outside air.
