A security cover system and apparatus for beverage cans and other containers. The system includes a security cap that is installed upon the top of an unopened container for containing an adult beverage or the like. The cap is adapted for secure installation upon the top of a container having a top with a circumferential rim, such as an aluminum beverage can. The cap has catches engagable with the rim of the container. The system includes an opener tool with a specially shaped key portion thereon. The opener engages with a complementary slot in the cap to permit an authorized person, using the opener tool, to remove the cap from the container.

A plastic beverage container includes a body, a closure, and a dry granular consumable. The body has a closed base portion and an open top end. The closure includes a top member, a bottom member, a pull tab, and an adhesive. The adhesive is disposed between a perimeter of each of the top and bottom members of the closure to form a sealed pouch container having a pull tab with a perforation. The top and bottom members are formed from one of a metal foil and polymer film. The dry granular consumable is disposed in the sealed pouch container. The adhesive is also disposed between the perimeter of the closure and a sealing surface of the top end of the body to form a liquid-tight seal between the closure and the top end of the body.

A container is provided with a lid having a push-button trigger mechanism that operates both a drink seal for a drinking opening and a vent seal for a vent opening. The trigger translates in a straight line transverse to a longitudinal axis of the container body during the entire movement of the trigger to define a straight-line actuation stroke. The vent opening is initially opened during a first portion of the actuation stroke of the trigger, and the drink opening is initially opened during a second portion of the actuation stroke of the trigger.

The destructible cover region is weaker than the liner and the cover region so that detachment of the cover region from the liner causes the destructible seal region to fail. The lidding assembly includes a first lidding material having a center portion and an outer portion that surrounds the center portion.

A beverage container closure or lid that is adapted for closing an open end of a beverage container. The lid is selectively couplable to the beverage container and includes a selectively openable stopper that when closed, creates a fluid-tight seal between the beverage container and the environment. The stopper may be selectively opened by a user by the user pressing a button disposed on a side of the beverage container closure. The stopper is subsequently automatically closed when the user releases the button. Thus, a user may open and close the beverage container closure using a single hand without the need to remove the beverage container closure from the beverage container.

A flexible laminate with a peelable flap portion is attached to the lid to provide access to the products inside. The flexible laminate includes a first film layer laminated to a second film layer. The first film layer includes a first cut line defining a peelable flap portion and the second film layer includes a second cut line offset from the first cut line that defines an opening into the container. First and second reclose surfaces defined between the cut lines on the corresponding film layers include pressure-sensitive adhesive to allow the container to be re-sealed via movement of the peelable flap portion back into engagement with the flexible laminate remaining with the container.
