Cap and container assemblies
A cap and container assembly includes a container having a base and a side wall extending upward from the base. The base and the side wall define an interior, and the side wall defines an opening leading to the interior. A cap moves with respect to the container between an opened position in which the opening is exposed, and a closed position in which the cap covers the opening. A tab projects outward from the cap and has a bottom surface. A spacer projects from the container side wall at a location beneath the tab when the assembly is in the closed position. The spacer bends inward towards the container in response to application of a sufficient force, to move from a locked position that blocks the bottom surface of the tab, to an unlocked position to expose at least a portion of the bottom surface of the tab.
Closure interlocking mechanism that prevents accidental initial opening of a container
The present invention is directed toward a container closure that prevents accidental initial opening of a container. The closure mechanism includes at least one temporary interlocking mechanism having a two part fastener that engages the moveable part of the closure with the fixed part of the closure. The temporary interlocking mechanism is invisible when the container is closed. It is positioned in a location different from the location of the orifice of the closure or from the path that the liquid follows during dispensing. This temporary interlocking mechanism includes at least one element that breaks or irreversibly deforms during the initial opening of the container. The additional force required to break or to irreversibly deform the breakable or irreversibly deformable element of the temporary interlocking mechanism during the first opening mitigates the risk of accidental opening during manufacturing, shipment or storage of the goods. Once broken or irreversibly deformed during the first opening, the interlocking mechanism does not interfere with the subsequent opening and closing cycles of the container by the consumer.
Travel bottle with slide or rotatable lock
A bottle includes a secure sealing mechanism. A slide switch plate or rotatable plate maintains the contents of the bottle. This is achieved by securing a dispensing mechanism in a closed, locked position and sealing an outlet so that any liquids are prevented from exiting the bottle.
Paperboard packaging container for bulk solids
A paperboard packaging container for bulk solids includes a container body formed by a container wall having wall portions, and a container bottom. The wall portions are connected by corner portions and each wall portion extends in a height direction from a lower end edge at the container bottom to an upper end edge at a container opening, the height direction being perpendicular to a cross direction of the container. An upper reinforcing rim is applied to the container opening. Each of the upper and lower end edge of the container wall has end edge portions corresponding to the wall portions. At least one edge portion has an outwardly curved shape and a radius of curvature larger than a radius of curvature of each corner edge portion, the at least one end edge portion bulges outwardly with a radius of curvature of 200-700 mm, preferably 300-600 mm, more preferably 400-500 mm.
Container
A container (100) includes a body (110) defining an internal volume and a first opening (112) that provides a path of fluid communication between the internal volume and an exterior of the body. A nozzle piece (120) is positioned at least partially within the opening in the body. The nozzle piece defines a second opening (126) that is smaller than the first opening in the body. A cap piece (130) is integral with the body. The cap piece is configured to pivot between an open position and a closed position via a hinge (132) that is positioned between the body and the cap piece. Fluid flow is permitted through the second opening in the nozzle piece when the cap piece is in the open position, and the cap piece prevents fluid flow through the second opening in the nozzle piece when the cap piece is in the closed position.
PLASTIC CLOSURE HAVING AN INTEGRITY GUARANTEE ELEMENT
A plastic closure includes a lower part, a lid, integrally connected to the lower part via a hinge, and at least one integrity guarantee element to indicate if the plastic closure has ever been opened. The plastic closure further includes at least one first detent element and at least one second detent element, and the at least one first detent element forms at least one integrity guarantee element and in the closed state and before the plastic closure is opened for the first time is in engagement with the at least one second detent element. The first detent element has a predetermined breaking point, and, when the plastic closure is opened for the first time via a pivoting movement of the lid, the predetermined breaking point can be broken and at least one part of the first detent element is configured to swing out to release the second detent element.
CONTAINER
A package includes a container and a lid. The container may include a tamper evident feature, a child resistant feature, or both.
CLOSURE FOR A CONTAINER
A closure (40) for use with a container of a fluent substance includes a body (54) defining an orifice (84) to accommodate flow of a fluent substance from the container. The closure (40) has a lid (56) connected to the body (54) and movable between (i) a closed position occluding the orifice (84), and (ii) an open position spaced from the orifice (84). The closure (40) includes a retainer (60) having a locked position wherein the retainer (60) is engaged with both of the closure body (54) and the lid (56) to prevent the lid (56) from moving into the open position. The retainer 60) has an unlocked position rotated away from the locked position wherein the retainer (60) is disengaged from at least one of the closure body (54) and the lid (56) to permit the lid (56) to move into the open position.
ADHESIVELY CLOSED PACKAGING SYSTEMS
A packaging system includes a base, a lid, a closure structure, and an adhesive deposit. The base has a well. The lid is hingeably connected to the base and has a user input region and a protrusion projecting into the well. The closure structure is configured for releasably retaining the lid in a closed position relative to the base. The adhesive deposit is located within the well and at least partially surrounds the protrusion, and forms a first plurality of adhesive bonds with the well and a second plurality of adhesive bonds with the protrusion. The second plurality of adhesive bonds and the closure structure are configured to exert a combined retention force of at least 20N.
Travel bottle with slide lock
A bottle includes a secure sealing mechanism. A slide switch plate maintains the contents of the bottle. This is achieved by securing a dispensing mechanism in a closed, locked position and sealing an outlet so that any liquids are prevented from exiting the bottle.
