Variable displacement base and container and method of using the same
Hot-fillable plastic bottle including a finished portion, a body portion with at least one circumferential rib configured to resist radial distortion, and a base portion. The base portion comprises a base sidewall, a bottom support surface extending radially inward from the base sidewall and defining a reference plane, an inner support wall extending upwardly from the bottom support surface, and a diaphragm extending radially inward from the inner support wall. The diaphragm comprises an inner wall having an arcuate shape with a radius r1 and a central conical structure, where the diaphragm is in an initial as-formed position with the conical structure above the reference place. The diaphragm is configured to move from an initial as-formed position toward a second position when an internal pressure relative an external pressure exceeds a threshold value.
Plastic container with threaded neck finish
A plastic container includes a neck portion, a sidewall portion, and a base portion. The neck portion includes a plurality of threads, which may be configured to retain and/or secure a cap or lid. In embodiments, the threads may be blown and/or the neck portion may include a neck rib provided vertically above the threads.
BEVERAGE CONTAINER
A beverage container that includes a base, a cylindrical sidewall extending from and integrally formed with the base, and an upper region extending from the sidewall and defining an upper opening. The beverage container includes a longitudinal axis extending in a direction from the base to the upper opening. The beverage container further includes a continuous channel formed in and extending around a circumference of the sidewall. The continuous channel is sinusoidal such that the continuous channel forms peaks and troughs. A height of the continuous channel as measured in a direction of the longitudinal axis from a peak to a trough is about 30% to 80% of a height of the sidewall, such that the continuous channels resists elongation of the beverage container in a direction of the longitudinal axis.
Method of making a bottle made of FDCA and diol monomers and apparatus for implementing such method
A method of making a bottle (1) made of at least one thermoplastic polymer of at least one FuranDiCarboxylic Acid (FDCA) monomer and at least one diol monomer, comprising the steps of: providing a preform, placing the preform in a mold, blowing the preform to form the bottle (1) comprising an envelop (2) defining a housing, wherein, at the step of blowing the preform, the mold is heated at a temperature greater than or equal to 50 C., preferably comprised between 50 C. and 100 C., more preferably between 65 C. and 85 C.
Collapsible Travel Bottle
A collapsible travel bottle comprising a flexible main body comprising an inner space for receiving a liquid therein, the main body including an upper portion, a middle portion, and a lower portion, an opening in the upper portion in communication with the inner space to allow receiving and discharging of the liquid within the flexible main body, a rigid collar coupled to the upper portion proximate the opening, a rigid cap coupled to the rigid collar to restrict receiving and discharging of the liquid within the flexible main body through the opening, the middle portion configured to enable both the top portion and the middle portion to collapse fully into the bottom portion.
Base for hot-fill plastic containers
A base structure for a blow-molded container having an annular sidewall and a central longitudinal axis, the base structure comprising: a bottom portion; an annular support heel positioned between the sidewall and the bottom portion, wherein the annular support heel is angled inwardly at an angle of from about 15 to about 65 relative a plane extending from the sidewall; and a plurality of partial sphere structures on the annular support heel and extending beyond the bottom portion thus forming a contact surface supporting the container, and wherein the blow-molded container comprises a material selected from the group consisting of a polyester resin and polypropylene.
CONTAINER BOTTOM BASE PROVIDED WITH A BI-CONCAVE ARCH
A container (1) made of plastic having a main axis (X) being provided with a body (5) and a bottom base (6) extending from a lower end of the body (5), the bottom base (6) comprising: a peripheral seat (7) defining a laying plane (8); a concave arch (10) which extends from the periphery of a central zone (11) of the bottom base (6) to the peripheral seat (7), said concave arch (10) having a rounded general shape with a concavity turned towards the outside of the container (1); a series of principal reinforcing grooves (13) which extend radially from the central zone (11) to at least the peripheral seat (7). The concave arch (10) has two annularly tangentially continuous concentric regions, i.e. a central region (15) and a peripheral region (16), said annularly tangentially concentric regions being in continuity with each other and presenting two different radius of curvature, the peripheral region (16) having a radius of curvature smaller than the one of the central region (15).
CONTAINER APPARATUS
A container has a container body extending along a longitudinal axis from a bottom end to a top end. The container body may define an internal cavity for holding a substance. The container body may include one or more shoulders, such as a first and/or second shoulder (e.g., axial shoulder). The shoulders may be located at the top end of the container. The container may include a neck located (e.g., nesting) between the first and second axial shoulder. The neck may be configured to accept a closure device. The neck may have an inner surface that defines a passageway into the internal cavity. The container may include one or more impact absorbing regions, such as a first axial impact absorbing region. The first axial impact absorbing region may be configured to absorb an axial force applied to the first axial shoulder and/or the second axial shoulder.
CONTAINER HAVING A BOTTOM BASE PROVIDED WITH NOTCHES
The invention concerns a container (1) made of plastic, provided with a body (5) and a bottom base (6) extending from a lower end of the body (5), the bottom base (6) comprising: an annular central zone (11) concentric to an injection point (12) located approximately at the center of the bottom base (6); a peripheral seat (7) defining a laying plane (8); a concave arch (10) which extends from the periphery of the central zone (11) to the peripheral seat (7) and having a rounded general shape with a concavity turned towards the outside of the container (1); a series of principal reinforcing grooves (13) which extend radially from the central zone (11) to at least the peripheral seat (7) defining for each principal reinforcing groove a main axis (G, G, G), According to the invention, the bottom base (6) further comprises a series of notches (15) and in that at least one of the series of notches (15) locally interrupt at least one of the series of principal reinforcing grooves (13).
