Lightweight container base

A mold system for forming a container having a longitudinal axis and a transverse direction that extends transverse to the longitudinal axis. The mold system includes a sidewall system for molding the sidewall portion of the container. The mold system also includes a base system for molding the base portion of the container. The base system is operable for forming the entire base portion of the container including a central pushup portion, a contact surface for supporting the container, and at least one strap extending along the base portion in the transverse direction. The strap defines a strap surface that is spaced offset in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis from the contact surface. The strap surface extends in the transverse direction to be adjacent the sidewall portion such that the at least one strap surface is visible from a side of the container.

Method of handling a plastic container having a moveable base

A plastic container comprises an upper portion including a finish defining an opening into the container, a lower portion including a base defining a standing surface, a sidewall extending between the upper portion and the lower portion, the sidewall defining a longitudinal axis, and at least one substantially transversely-oriented pressure panel located in the lower portion. The pressure panel is movable between an outwardly-inclined position and an inwardly-inclined position to compensate for a change of pressure inside the container. The standing surface defines a standing plane, and the entire pressure panel is located between the standing plane and the upper portion of the container when the pressure panel is in the outwardly-inclined position.

Plastic container

Plastic container (1) being composed of a neck (3), a shoulder (5), a body (4) and a base section (2), where the base section (2) comprises at least two tie members (6a) extending from a central area (8) to the side wall of the base (2). According to the invention, the tie members (6b, 6c) and/or the function of the tie members (6b, 6c) of the base (2) at least in certain areas extend into the body section (4) or into the body (4) and the shoulder section (5) of the plastic container (1).

CONTAINER BOTTLE

A container bottle includes a bottle body and a handle disposed at the neck of the bottle body, where one end of the handle is connected to the neck of the bottle body, and the other end of the handle is in a free state.

A synthetic resin container, the container including: a parting line; and a plurality of reduced pressure absorbing panels each formed as a groove extending in the vertical direction while twisting in the circumferential direction, the reduced pressure absorbing panels being disposed in the trunk, in which: when the parting line passes through an upper part of a first reduced pressure absorbing panel and through a lower part of a second reduced pressure absorbing panel, the first reduced pressure absorbing panel is shallower in depth at the upper part thereof than at a central part thereof in the vertical direction, and the second reduced pressure absorbing panel is shallower in depth at the lower part thereof than at a central part thereof in the vertical direction.

Plastic container with strapped base

A container may have a base, a sidewall connected to the base, a bell connected to the sidewall, and a finish connected to the bell. The base may have strap ribs to resist deformation of the base. The sidewall may have recessed columns to resist bending, leaning, crumbling, and/or stretching. The strap ribs and recessed columns may vertically line up along a central axis of the container to communicate forces on the container vertically along the container to continuously resist deformation in the base and the sidewall.

Vertical Displacement Container Base

A container including an opening defined by a finish portion. A base is at an end of the container opposite to the opening. The base includes a deep base ring between a standing surface and a truncated cone at a center of the base. The truncated cone is mechanically movable a displacement distance from an as-blown position to a displaced position subsequent to hot-filling and capping of the container to reduce an internal volume of the container. In the displaced position, the truncated cone is closer to the opening than in the as-blown position.

Provided is a plastic container with a bottom area and a main body, which adjoins the bottom area in a longitudinal direction of the plastic container, wherein the main body includes a wall which extends all the way around in a circumferential direction of the plastic container and an opening area which at least indirectly adjoins the main body in the longitudinal direction and has a container opening, wherein the circumferential wall of the main body includes at least one first groove and/or elevation extending in a first direction and at least one second groove and/or elevation extending in a second direction.

Container with pressure accommodation panel

A container is provided with a body portion. The body portion includes a first vacuum panel, a second vacuum panel, a third vacuum panel, a first diagonal column between the first vacuum panel and the second vacuum panel, and a second diagonal column between the second vacuum panel and the third vacuum panel. The second vacuum panel and the third vacuum panel are oriented in opposite directions. In response to a change in an internal container pressure, the body portion flexes at the first vacuum panel such that a surface of the first vacuum panel increases in concavity in response to an increasing pressure change.
