A container closure device comprises a closure unit (10) with a closure part (40) for opening and re-closing the container opening (23) multiple times, and an operating device (50) with an operating part (60) for actuating the closure part, wherein the operating part is rotatably disposed on the closure part and can be rotated from a locked position into an unlocked position. According to a first aspect, the operating part further comprises a first and a second locking portion (61, 62), which are configured in such a way that, in the locked position, the two locking portions extend beyond the container opening up to an opening limiting region (24) delimiting the container opening, and that, in the unlocked position, at least one of the two locking portions does not extend beyond the container opening up to the opening limiting region delimiting the container opening. Alternatively, a displacement mechanism is provided with which, by rotating the operating part relative to the closure part, one of the closure part or the operating part can be moved towards or away from the container wall in a direction substantially extending perpendicularly to the container wall, whereby the operating part and/or the closure part can be pressed against the container wall or detached from it. Alternatively, the closure unit comprises a fixing device (80) by means of which, in a fixed position, the closure part can be detachably fixed in the open position and by means of which, in a released position, the closure part can be pivoted between the closed and the open position.

An easy-open can end for making an opening therethrough suitable for pouring comprises an end plate, a score line in the end plate defining most of the periphery of a tear panel while leaving a hinge, and a protrusion formed on the tear panel. To open the easy-open can end, the protrusion is pressed down by a rotating bar horizontally rotated over the protrusion or by a body vertically hitting the protrusion to cause relative vertical movement between the tear panel and the remainder of the end plate, rupture of the score line, and swinging of the tear panel down about the hinge to an open position.

A resealable container lid assembly including a cap rotationally assembled to a lid. The cap rotates between storage, opening, removal and resealing positions. Operation between the cap and the lid employs any suitable mechanical interface, such as cam tracks and cam followers. The lid includes a tear panel defined by a score line. Features of the cap are used to impinge upon the lid to fracture the score line and open the tear panel. Once opened, the cap can reseal the container. The seal can be provided between a bottom surface of the cap and the top surface of the lid, a feature of the sidewalls of the cap and the lid, or any other sealing interface. The cap can include a tamper indicator. The cap can be replaced with any of a variety of specialized caps and/or accessories designed for different functions.

A container assembly that may be used as a can or a cup includes a container that may contain a beverage. A lid is removably coupled to the container and a retainer is removably coupled to the lid. The retainer engages the container such that the lid is retained on the container. The retainer is selectively removed from the lid such that the lid is removable from the container.

A beverage container cover and opener comprises a cylindrical beverage can cover having an outer housing and inner hemispherical dome shaped button. Within the opener and under the dome shaped button is secured a spring actuated lever in mechanical communication with a plunger. When the dome shaped button is depressed in a first direction the plunger is depressed in a second direction which opens a beverage can having a tab with which the plunger is in physical proximity.

A plug styled closure cap for resealing a resealable container. The cap includes a body comprising a sidewall, a motion translating feature formed on an exterior surface of the sidewall of the plug style closure cap body that translates a rotational motion to an axial motion when engaged with a mating translating feature formed on an interior surface of a container opening, a sealing surface that engages with a mating sealing surface of the container opening, and a tamper evidence feature integral with the cap body. The sealing surface can include an elastomeric element. The tamper evidence feature can include at least one segment defined by frangible elements. A method of use enables resealing of the container and indication when the container is no longer factory sealed.

An assembly including an end cap having a score line defining a flap, wherein the score line is configured to be torn along its length to enable the flap to pivot about a hinge area. The assembly includes a tab having a first rivet opening and a second rivet opening, wherein at least part of the tab is spaced away from the flap. The assembly further includes a first rivet extending through the first rivet opening and coupling the tab to the end cap at a location spaced away from the flap, and a second rivet extending through the second rivet opening and coupling the tab to the end cap at a location spaced away from the flap.
