A portable drinking device capable of fitting over a typical pressurized beverage can to direct the flow of fluid from the can into a user's mouth. The portable drinking device may be positioned over the open top of a can. The portable drinking device and can are then slightly tilted sideways. A piercing device, which is stored in a storage area formed in a funnel-like cap of the portable drinking device, is used to puncture a whole in the side of the can after the drinking device and can are tilted sideways. Either just before or immediately after the can is pierced, the entire assembly is positioned so that the portable drinking device directs a rapid stream of fluid from the punctured can through the tube of the portable drinking device into a user's mouth.

The liquid uptake structure provides an airflow path through the second openings and a principle liquid flow path separate from the airflow path through the third opening, thus separating the two flow paths and providing a smooth pour.

The lid has a top planar portion with one or more score lines that define a primary opening when ruptured to provide a flow of the liquid beverage to a consumer when the beverage container is tilted from vertical. The beverage container also includes a lip relief extending inward and only partially circumventing an area of the neck. The lip relief is aligned with the primary opening and is dimensioned to accept a lower lip of the consumer while drinking the liquid beverage when the beverage container is tilted from vertical.

A beverage container for a nitrogenated beverage comprises at least two restricted outlet apertures (11, 12) configured to, when pouring therefrom into a secondary vessel, form jets of beverage that impinge downstream. Impingement initiates nucleation of dissolved nitrogen gas in the beverage and, as such, when poured into the vessel a creamy head of fine nitrogen/mixed gas bubbles can be formed. The restricted outlet apertures can be formed in a plate (10) over an openable mouth of the beverage container, or directly upon the container. Preferably a vent (14) or some other feature is included to increase the velocity of the jets.
