A high-strength foam bearing pallet is disclosed. The foam bearing pallet comprises a foam bearing plate and supporting legs configured on the lower end of the foam bearing plate. The foam bearing plate comprises a foam core and a PET reinforcing film covering the outer surface of the foam core to increase its strength. The PET reinforcing film is made of a PET sheet heated and fixed to the outer surface of the foam core through vacuum forming. The PET reinforcing film limits and tightens the foam core to prevent the foam core from deformation or fracture. As the outer surface of the foam core is wholly covered by the reinforcing film, and the reinforcing film limits and tightens the foam core, the foam bearing pallet will have higher strength.

A packaged article is composed of a bulk bag having a top end and a bottom end. Further included is a pallet having a first side and a second side. Also included are an outer bag having a first closed end and a first open end and a heatshrink bag having a second closed end and a second open end. The first closed end of the outer bag is between the bottom end of the bulk bag and the first side of the pallet. The first open end of the outer bag is gathered over the top end of the bulk bag to enclose the bulk bag within the outer bag. The second closed end of the heatshrink bag is proximate to the top end of the bulk bag and the second open end contacts the second side of the pallet.

A pallet may include a base layer, an intermediate layer, two or more support blocks, and a top layer. The support blocks may be removably attached to the base layer and the intermediate layer such that the support blocks are positioned between the base layer and the intermediate layer. The base layer may include two or more base members, the intermediate layer may include two or more intermediate members and the top layer may include two top outside members, which all may be described as structural members. The structural members may include two or more ribs, may include fiber dispersed in a thermoplastic material, and may include a continuous fiber bundle within each rib.

Described in detail herein is a system for the detection and notification of abnormal pallet temperature fluctuation. An exemplary system includes a pallet, an ambient air temperature sensor, an item temperature sensor, an indicator light, and an electronic device. The electronic device receives temperature readings from both the ambient air temperature sensor and the item temperature sensor and compares the temperature readings against a known set of temperature thresholds corresponding to the items on the pallet. Following a determination of an unacceptable variation from a threshold, the electronic device may provide a notification through the indicator light. The notification may correspond to the criticality of the threshold passed.

A pallet has a deck, a skid and a plurality of blocks, spacing the skid from the deck. The blocks comprise spacer portions and sleeve portions, wherein the sleeve portions may extend above and below the spacer portions. The deck and skid peripheral edges are cut away such that the deck and skid can be recessed with the blocks. The pallet constructed in this way can advantageously be made in any conventional size to meet the relevant norm or standard, while benefitting from the fact that the sleeve portions protect the edges of the deck and/or skid from impact. Furthermore, any impact imparted on the blocks is transmitted by the respective sleeve to the deck and/or skid. The elements of the pallet are connected without mechanical fasteners and the pallet can be easily repaired by removal and replacement of individual elements. A logistic system is also described.

A pallet assembly includes an upper portion including an upper deck and a plurality of upper column portions extending downward from the upper deck. The present invention provides a block protector assembly including a protector contoured to conform to a block of pallet where the pallet includes a plurality of blocks, and an attachment mechanism coupled to the protector, where the attachment mechanism is configured to secure the protector to the block of the pallet, where the protector includes a rigid material. The present invention also provides a method including determining a contour of a block of a pallet, fabricating a protector to follow the contour of the block, and securing the protector to the block. In addition, the present invention provides a protector configured to prevent damage to a block of a pallet, where the protector includes a first side contoured to a first side of the block, a second side contoured to a second side of the block, and a third side contoured to a third side of the block.
