The present invention is directed to a lid for disposable or reusable plastic, paper, Styrofoam, bioplastic, recycled plastic cups. The lid comprises a body and a lip extending downwards along the perimeter of the body. The body and lip sealably crimp over the cup. A conical shaped spout continuous with the body of the lid protrudes upwards. The spout is specifically shaped and sized for allowing drinking from the cup with or without the use of a straw.

The improved disposable aluminum lid is manufactured to prevent cuts and injury to the consumer and allow for proper nested of multiple lids for shipping and storage.

A container lid (10) is provided herein having structurally reinforcing ribs (50) therein. The ribs (50) increase the strength of the lid across a central region thereof. Specifically, the lid can have an outer perimeter and the ribs can be spaced inwardly from the outer perimeter. The inwardly spaced ribs (50) can provide a distinct look for consumer differentiation. Additionally, the ribs can be arcuate so that they generally follow a curvature of the outer perimeter of the lid. As such, a label region (56) within the lid central region is preserved, while the lid is still strengthened by the ribs.

The application mechanism is configured to be in fluid communication with the reservoir to apply an amount of the indicator composition and the optional disinfectant composition from the reservoir to an article dispensed through the dispensing aperture.
