The invention relates to a biodegradable packaging unit for a food product and a manufacturing method there for. The packaging unit comprises: —a container with an outer surface and an inner surface at least partly defining a compartment for holding the food product; —a biodegradable multi-layer that is provided on the inner surface of the container and comprising: —an inner cover layer comprising an amount of a biodegradable aliphatic polyester; —a first intermediate layer of a biodegradable material for connecting and/or sealing adjacent layers; —a functional layer comprising a polyvinylalcohol; —a second intermediate layer of a biodegradable material for connecting and/or sealing adjacent layers; and—an outer cover layer comprising an amount of a biodegradable aliphatic polyester, wherein the container comprises a moulded fiber matrix with an amount of biodegradable aliphatic polyester.

A laminate according to the present disclosure is a laminate including at least a first sealant layer, a vapor deposition film, and a second sealant layer in this order, wherein the first sealant layer includes at least a polyethylene resin layer and a surface resin layer, the vapor deposition film is located on the surface resin layer of the first sealant layer, the second sealant layer is composed of a polyethylene resin, and the surface resin layer of the first sealant layer contains a resin material with a melting point of 150° C. or more.
RIM FOR A CONTAINER
A rim assembly for a container comprises a frame member (346) having a perimeter corresponding in shape to an opening of a container such that, in use, the frame member is received within the opening and extends around an interior surface of a side wall of the container; a plurality of securing tabs (394) hingedly connected to the frame member (346), each tab (394) including an engagement member (396); sealing means configured for repeated sealing engagement with a lid of the container; and retaining means (399), wherein each of the securing tabs is movable between a first position in which the engagement member is disengaged from an aperture (317) in the container side wall and a second position in which the engagement member (396) is engaged with one of the apertures (317) in the side wall, and wherein the retaining means is configured to retain the securing tabs in the second position such that the rim assembly is secured to the container around a top edge of the side wall.

Methods and compositions for direct print having improved recyclability
The disclosure relates to ink compositions for digital printing on an external surface of a plastic article. The ink compositions comprise an ink removal-promoting additive. In some aspects, the ink removal-promoting additive can facilitate the separation or loosening of the image from the external surface of the article when the image is exposed to a liquid-based solution at an elevated temperature. Also disclosed are recyclable plastic articles having an external surface with an image printed thereon using the disclosed ink composition and methods for removing cured ink from a plastic container. The package material has a basis weight of between 50 gsm to 120 gsm, between 60 gsm to 105 gsm or between 70 gsm to 90 gsm, as determined via ISO 536 as modified herein.
