Lure apparatus for fishing and associated methods are disclosed. In some embodiments, the lure apparatus includes (1) a head portion; (2) a tail portion; and (3) an optional weight portion. The head portion and the tail portion are operably engaged. The head portion has a center opening, which enables a fishing line or wire to pass through. The optional weight portion is positioned inside the head portion to adjust the weight of the overall lure apparatus. The head portion has two side openings. The tail portion has two arms, each of which has a protrusion configured to be positioned in a corresponding one of the two side openings of the head portion. Once the two protrusions are positioned in the side openings, the two protrusions engage with the head portion and restrain the tail portion from moving relatively to the head portion.

The illumination assembly pocket provides temporary securement where the positive and negative leads of the illumination source are held in contact against the power source terminals illuminating the lure and allowing for rapid interchangeability of illumination color, brightness, or light effects such as blinking, flashing, flickering or like.

The lure body defines a first loop that is disposed on a front portion of the lure body for attaching a top blade, a second loop disposed on a lower portion of the lure body for attaching the fishhook, and a third loop that is disposed on a rear portion of the lure body for attaching the fishhook. The lure body may include an additional loop disposed on the lower portion of the lure body for attaching the fishhook. Each of the fishhooks include the swivel member configured for releasably attaching the selected blade.

An adjustable depth fishing lure including a lip and a lure body is provided. The lip is partially received in a slot of the lure body and is movable to predetermined positions relative to the lure body. The lip may include an eyelet. The lip includes a locking member and the lure body includes a plurality of teeth. The locking member is configured to engage at least one of the teeth to fix the lip relative to the lure body at one of the predetermined positions. This engagement between the locking member and the teeth provides a rigid connection that resists loading applied to the lip by the fisherman pulling on the fishing line and/or a fish biting a hook connected to the lure body.

An adjustable depth fishing lure including a lip and a lure body is provided. The lip is partially received in a slot of the lure body and is movable to predetermined positions relative to the lure body. The lip may include an eyelet. The lip includes a locking member and the lure body includes a plurality of teeth. The locking member is configured to engage at least one of the teeth to fix the lip relative to the lure body at one of the predetermined positions. This engagement between the locking member and the teeth provides a rigid connection that resists loading applied to the lip by the fisherman pulling on the fishing line and/or a fish biting a hook connected to the lure body.
