BIODEGRADABLE, RECYCLABLE AND HEAT-SEALABLE MATERIAL SUITABLE FOR FOOD USE AND RECYCLABLE FOOD CONTAINER MADE OF SAID MATERIAL
A biodegradable, recyclable and heat-sealable material suitable for food use, and to a recyclable food container made of the material are provided. The material (1) includes a lower cardboard layer (2), an intermediate gluing layer (3), and an upper paper layer (4) with a surface coating (41) as a waterproof barrier made of a non-plastic, silicone-free, non-stick varnish of vegetable origin; and the container (10), which is suitable for conventional ovens, microwave ovens and freezing, has the shape of a tray, bowl or similar and is made of a material (1) that includes a lower cardboard layer (2), an intermediate gluing layer (3) and an upper paper layer (4) with a surface coating (41) as a waterproof barrier made of a non-stick varnish of vegetable origin, which can have a heat-sealed closing lid (11) made of plastic film, paper or cardboard.
Framed packaging lid
A product package can have a tray and a combination flexible/rigid lid design. The design can include a rigid or semi-rigid frame and a flexible film that is transparent or translucent. The film can be fixedly attached to the frame and releasably attached to the package tray. The product package can (a) maintain a seal until opened by a consumer, (b) enable a consumer to view the product through the lid, (c) be opened with a single step, and/or (d) be resealed and reused.
Packaging with paper material
A packaging unit comprises at least one first piece of packaging material, wherein the first piece of packaging material has a coated paper, which has a base paper and at least three coatings applied one on top of the other on the base paper. The at least three coatings have in a sequence in which they are given, starting from the base paper, a first barrier layer, comprising at least one hydrophobic polymer, a second barrier layer, comprising at least one hydrophilic polymer, and a third barrier layer, comprising at least one hydrophobic polymer. Furthermore, the packaging is closed in a gas-tight manner.
PACKAGING TRAY WITH CAPPING LAYER
The present invention is directed to rigid or semi-rigid trays having a bulk layer comprising a crystalline aromatic polyester and a capping layer which is in direct contact with the bulk layer. The capping layer comprises a copolymer having a first structural repeating unit of ethylene and a second structural repeating unit selected from the following: (i) an acrylate-based moiety: fit) at least 12% by weight relative to the total weight of the copolymer of vinyl acetate; and (iii) an anhydride or carboxylic acid. It has been discovered that the bulk layer and the capping layer of the present invention can be readily co-extruded together and have sufficient bond strength to each other despite their chemical dissimilarity. In some preferred embodiments, the capping layer acts as a heat seal layer and is formulated to heat seal to conventional polyolefin-based lidstock.
MULTILAYER FILM FOR RECLOSABLE PET PACKAGING
A multilayer film: an adhesive layer A: an extrudable hot-melt self-adhesive composition; a complexable thin layer B; and a heat-sealable and cleavable layer C of a linear copolyester C1 obtained by polycondensation of a composition of monomers: at least one diol (i), at least one compound (ii) chosen from terephthalic acid or a diester derivative and at least one compound (iii) chosen from an aromatic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acid or a diester or anhydride derivative;
the amounts of the monomers (i), (ii) and (iii) used in the polycondensation such that the softening temperature of C1 is below 190? C.
A process for producing the multilayer film by co-extrusion blow-molding.
A resealable packaging comprising a PET-based receptacle and a seal of said multilayer film, the heat-sealable and cleavable layer (C) of which is heat-sealed on the receptacle.
THERMOFORMING SHEETS AND THERMOFORMED CONTAINERS PREPARED THEREFROM
Forming webs and packages are provided having improved sealability to peelable lidstocks. The thermoformed containers may have a mouth having an opening and a flange disposed about the opening, the flange formed from a forming web and having a thickness greater than about 12 mils and up to about 80 mils. The forming web may have a base layer with a skim coating thereon, a portion of the skim coating being on the flange having a skim coating thickness from about 2 mils to about 8 mils. A peelable lid may include a film with an inner lid sealant layer which is sealed to the portion of the skim coating on the flange, the skim coating and inner lid sealant layer each having a common polyolefin majority component, the common polyolefin component being different than a majority component of the base layer.
Container and method for making and filling the same
A method of making a container having a separable inner lining and outer shell comprises the steps of: forming an outer shell having a base, a sidewall and a rim surrounding an opening of the shell; preforming a flexible lining, at least a part of the lining conforming to a complete internal shape of the shell; inserting the pre-formed lining into the shell so that a first part of the lining is within the shell and a second part of the lining protrudes from the opening of the shell; adhering the first part to an internal surface of the shell; conforming the second part to an external surface of the shell; and attaching to the lining around said rim a sealing layer covering the opening, the sealing layer being peelable from the lining such that the lining remains intact, and the adhesion between the lining and the internal surface of the shell being such that the lining is peelable from the shell while remaining intact.
Container and method for making the same
A method of making a container (2, 30) having a separable inner lining (6) and outer shell (4) comprises the steps of: forming an outer shell; pre-forming a flexible lining, at least a part of the lining conforming to a complete internal shape of the shell; inserting the preformed lining into the shell so that a first part of the lining is within the shell and a second part of the lining protrudes from the opening of the shell; adhering the first part to an internal surface (8) of the shell; conforming the second part to an external surface of the shell; and attaching to the lining around said rim a sealing layer covering the opening, and the adhesion between the lining and the internal surface of the shell being such that the lining is peelable from the shell while remaining intact.
Reinforced canister
A canister for holding one or more products. The canister includes a canister body having a first layer and a second layer laminated to the first layer. The canister body has a bottom end having a bottom panel offset from the bottom of the canister and a top end sealed with a lid.
System and Method for Framed Lid
