A fishing lure includes a body portion, a hook member coupled to a junction region disposed distal of the body portion, and a shielding skirt extending from the body member. The body portion includes a rotatable member configured to rotate about a central longitudinal axis in the presence of fluid friction acting against the lure. The shielding skirt extends outward from the body portion and is configured to assume a first configuration during retrieval of the lure that defines a protective zone that protects the hook member from ensnaring structures, such as submerged vegetation. The shielding skirt is collapsible by contacting lateral forces into a second configuration in which one or more terminal endpoints of the hook member is exposed and available to ensnare the source of the contacting lateral force, such as a fish. The shielding skirt resiliently returns to the first configuration when the lateral forces are removed.

A feather tailed stand-up jig is provided. The feather tailed stand-up jig includes a weighted body having a hook securely attached to a proximal end of the weighted body, wherein the hook is oriented in an upward-facing position when the weighted body is resting on a bottom of a body of water, such that the barb of the hook is positioned above the bottom. The weighted body includes a flat lower surface to support the jig in an upright orientation. An eyelet extends from a front side of the weighted body and can receive a fishing line therethrough. A feathered tail extends from a rear side of the weighted body forming a rearmost side of the feather tailed stand-up jig. As the fishing jig is dragged along the bottom of the body of water, the feathered tail moves to mimic the appearance of aquatic organisms.

An artificial fishing lure that includes an elongate body that has a curling tail extending from an end of the elongate body. The curling tail may curl upward or downward. The lure also includes a feather placed on a predetermined position of the curling tail. The feather placement creates realistic looking optical side to side and back and forth swimming motion so that the lure appears more like a real fish moving through the water.

The fishing lure provided herein may include a body which may comprise a dynamic portion and a static portion. The dynamic portion may be shaped like a serpentine path and may be configured to adjust in a similar manner as an accordion. The dynamic portion may retract or expand based on movement of water surrounding the fishing lure. This retracting and expanding may cause movement of the dynamic portion that may mimic the movement of a fishtail. This movement may be useful when fishing, as it may lure fish by moving in a similar manner as prey.

ANIMATED FISHING JIG APPARATUS AND SYSTEM
20260026484 · 2026-01-29 ·

An animated fishing jig apparatus having a jig body (e.g., torpedo shape, substantially round cross section) with a light-passing portion on its exterior surface and an interior chamber configured to fittedly carry an animator system assembly comprising a light source(s) (e.g., LED), a micro vibration motor, and battery. A head eye and a tail eye are mechanically connected to forward and aft portions of the jig body, respectively. The clear (or opaque) light-passing portion allows light source(s) emissions to enter the nearby environment. The battery (e.g., rechargeable, removeable, or permanent) powers the light source(s) and the micro vibration motor. An automatic switch (e.g., water sensor type, pressure sensor type) detects a submerged condition to power On the onboard components, and detects a non-submerged condition to power Off. A light-altering auxiliary jacket comprises a sheath portion to fittedly receive the jig body and (optionally) an aft-mounted adornment portion (e.g., tail ribbons).

A weedless lure body has a hollow elliptical cone shape, with an opening in an elliptical shape. The body further includes a first side wall and a second side wall extending downward from a top of the hollow elliptical cone. A shank of a hook is formed with grabbing barbs, which are embedded in the second side wall. The barbed end is fixed relative to the second side wall, transversely within the opening, and vertically below the open end of the weedless lure body in use. The weedless lure body collapses upon itself in use for retrieval, with a fish on the hook.

A fishing lure, which is attachable to fishing line for movement through water in a fishing direction, includes a first section, a spinner blade, a second section, a transition section, and a fishing hook coupled to the second section. The first section includes a leading end and a trailing end. The leading end is configured for attachment to the fishing line. The spinner blade is rotatably coupled to the first section between the leading end and the trailing end for rotation about a spinner axis. The second section is in a trailing position relative to the first section during the movement of the fishing lure through the water. A central axis of the second section is offset form the spinner axis in a direction that is perpendicular to the fishing direction. The transition section connects the trailing end of the first section to the second section.
