Animal Sensing System
Animal sensing systems and methods are described. An animal sensing system can include an input section with an entrance and an output section having at least two output paths each having its own exit. An animal can enter the animal sensing system through the entrance. A sensor within a sensing area of the input section can detect one or more characteristics of the animal, and can communicate the detected characteristic(s) to a central processing unit. The central processing unit can use the received data to classify the animal based on the detected characteristic(s), and then control a directional guide, such as a gate, in the animal sensing system on the basis of the classification, so as to direct the animal within the animal sensing system, such as to allow access to only one of the output paths at a time. The animal may thus be allowed to exit the animal sensing system through only one output path, directing the animal to a desired location based on the classification.
Catcher basket assembly
The invention relates to a catcher basket assembly including a main body, at least one confining container for containing an animal, and at least one directing part in the main body, for assisting to direct the animal from the main body to the confining container. In use, the directing part directs an animal towards one or more confining container and the confining container enables the animal to be visually inspected and sorted without the need to make direct contact with the animal. The invention also relates to a catcher basket assembly for confining and sorting a crab. The invention also relates to a method of use of a catcher basket assembly.
SCALE FOR DETERMINING THE WEIGHT OF ORGANISMS
There is described a scale for determining weight of one or more organisms contained in a sample. The scale generally has: a camera having a field of view orientable towards the sample and being configured for acquiring an image of the one or more organisms of the sample; a controller having a memory and a processor configured to perform the steps of: accessing the acquired image; using an organism detection engine being stored on the memory and being trained, detecting one or more organism representations in one or more corresponding portions of the accessed image and generating detection data concerning the one or more detected organism representations; and using an organism weight determination engine being stored on the memory and being trained, determining weight data concerning weight associated to the one or more detected organism representations based on the detection data.

Methods for Attaching Transmitters to Animals
Methods for attaching a radio frequency (RF) transmitter to an animal are provided. The methods can include providing an RF transmitter and providing an injection device having a needle of gauge of 9 or smaller; providing the RF transmitter into the injection device; and providing the RF transmitter through the 9 gauge or smaller needle and into the animal.

Fish measurement station keeping
A fish monitoring system deployed in a particular area to obtain fish images is described. Neural networks and machine-learning techniques may be implemented to periodically train fish monitoring systems and generate monitoring modes to capture high quality images of fish based on the conditions in the determined area. The camera systems may be configured according to the settings, e.g., positions, viewing angles, specified by the monitoring modes when conditions matching the monitoring modes are detected. Each monitoring mode may be associated with one or more fish activities, such as sleeping, eating, swimming alone, and one or more parameters, such as time, location, and fish type.
