20230322479 · 2023-10-12 · ·

A computer-controlled rubbish container includes a power bank, a control circuit, and a wheel assembly coupled to a bottom portion of a rubbish container. The wheel assembly includes an electric motor coupled to a wheel, wherein the wheel rotates upon a wireless signal sent from a computer to the control circuit. In some embodiments, the wheel assembly is configured to engage and disengage from a ground surface such that the rubbish container is capable of manual pushing.

RECEPTACLE FOR YARD WASTE
20210339945 · 2021-11-04 ·

The receptacle for yard waste will allow the user to quickly combine the collecting, compacting and bagging of leaves and yard waste by providing a single receptacle that a user can collect yard waste into a bag within, and then compact. The bag is quick and easy to install within the receptacle, and is removed through the front opening so that the user doesn't have to lift the compacted bag out of the top of the receptacle. The front opening also makes it possible to do away with the step of having to eliminate one or more air pockets between a traditional plastic yard waste bag and the bagging container.

Waste Receptacles

A waste receptacle includes a housing, and a wheel assembly coupled to the housing. The wheel assembly includes an axle, a wheel secured to the axle and slidable along the axle between an outer position and an inner position, and a spacer. The spacer is removably securable to the axle adjacent the wheel in (i) a first position inward of the wheel to operably retain the wheel in the outer position, and (ii) in a second position outward of the wheel to operably retain the wheel in the inner position.

System and method for collecting medical waste that monitors the waste for objects that may have been inadvertently discarded

A mobile cart that holds a bag for receiving solid waste generated during a medical or surgical procedure. The cart includes a sensor that monitors whether or not an object containing metal is placed in the bag. A processor monitors the signal output by the sensor. If the sensor signal indicates that an object with a minimal amount of metal is placed in the bag, the processor momentarily asserts an audible alarm and continuously asserts a light alarm. The light alarm remains asserted until turned off. If, while the light alarm is on, the sensor signal indicates a second object with the minimal amount of waste is placed in the container, the processor again momentarily asserts the audible alarm. This provides notice that it may be necessary to investigate the contents of the bag to determine if not one but two or more objects were inadvertently discarded.

Weight-measurement retrofitting for waste compactors
11162834 · 2021-11-02 · ·

A weight-measurement system for inclusion or use with a waste container includes scale devices in communication with a remote computer via a communications module. In some embodiments, the scale devices are mounted to a wheeled base frame that is integral with and supports the waste container. In other embodiments, the scale devices are mounted to a stationary base frame upon which a conventional waste container is retrofittingly positioned and supported during use. The scale devices can be provided by load cells, for example load-pin load cells used as axles for wheels of the integral base frame or as axles for rollers of the retrofit stationary base frame. The remote computer can be programmed to receive weight data from the scale devices, via the communications module, determine the actual weight of the waste contained in the waste container, and provide pre-defined weight-based notifications.

A remotely-controllable transporter for waste receptacles is disclosed herein in several examples. As one example, the remotely-controllable transporter may include an axle for replacing a native waste receptacle axle and be configured to removably attach thereto. In another example, the remotely-controllable transporter may include side brackets to removably attach to a variety of waste receptacles. In yet another example, the remotely-controllable transporter may be part of an integrally-formed waste receptacle assembly. Also disclosed herein are methods for use of the disclosed remotely-controllable transporters and waste receptacle assemblies.

Metal Detection System For Use With Medical Waste Container

A system for detecting disposal of metallic objects into an opening of a medical waste container, including: an indicator for indicating passage of metallic objects through the opening, a pair of receive coils and a transmit coil spaced therebetween shaped for receiving waste therethrough adjacent to the opening, and a controller in electrical communication with the coils. The controller generates and communicates a transmit signal to the transmit coil, which generates a magnetic field that induces voltage in each of the receive coils, which each generate a receive signal. The controller generates a waveform based on the receive signals with a baseline corresponding to absence of metallic objects, and analyzes the waveform with respect to opposite first and second thresholds. The controller activates the indicator in response to metallic objects passing through the coils when the waveform first exceeds the first threshold and then subsequently exceeds the second threshold.

Waste receptacle

A waste cart includes a base housing; a center upright having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the proximal end is secured to the base housing; a top housing secured to the distal end of the center upright, wherein the top housing has two or more disposal openings for two or more separate disposal portions including, a first waste portion which has a first metal detector and an indicator for providing a notification when a metal item passes through the opening; and a second waste portion which includes a second metal detector and an indicator for providing a notification when a metal item passes through the opening; an electronics module which operates each metal detector independently; and an alarm indicator operationally associated with the electronics module which is activated when the electronics module detects the passage of a metal item through an opening into a waste portion.

Waste storage device and intelligent management system
11793313 · 2023-10-24 ·

A waste storage device and an intelligent management system are provided. The waste storage device includes: a casing, a control module disposed in the casing, a microphone module disposed on an outer surface of the casing, and a moving module electrically connected to the control module. The microphone module is electrically connected to the control module. When the microphone module receives a first audio signal, the microphone module transmits the first audio signal to the control module, the control module analyzes an audio sending direction of the first audio signal, and the control module provides a driving signal to the moving module according to the first audio signal to drive the waste storage device to move in the audio sending direction.

EXTENSION DEVICE FOR REFUSE CONTAINERS

An extension device for a refuse container includes a pair of Y-shaped sides, each having a top end and a pair of spaced apart bottom ends. Two bumpers are positioned between the spaced apart bottom ends, and a device handle is positioned between the top ends of each side. A refuse handle capture assembly is positioned between the sides of the device and includes a pair of circular arms that are rotated by a central rod to transition between a locked and an unlocked position. Each of the arms include an opening for receiving and engaging the handle of a refuse container. When secured onto a refuse container, the bumpers engage the lid and back wall of the container and the device handle is positioned diagonally outward from the container to provide an adjustable mechanical advantage for allowing a user to tilt and move the refuse container.
