Fishing reel with improved line management and control system and clicker mechanism

A fishing reel designed to minimize line snag and simplify clicker operation. A frame mounted spool includes a forward flange defining a circumferential groove for receiving a smooth surfaced ring that is loosely mounted therein for minimizing line interaction. A spinner head assembly has pin arms that are pivotally secured to a rearward face. The pin arms present a substantially smooth rear surface for minimizing line snags. Pin springs are mounted on the opposite face of spinner head member and communicate with the pin arms via pin arm posts that extend through openings. An enclosure is affixed to the forward face of the spinner head for permitting the pin springs to have freedom of movement, but for enclosing pin springs and posts to prevent interaction with fishing line. A dual clicker passes through the frame for engaging the spool and the drag adjusting wheel.

A spinning reel includes, a spool, a spool shaft, a pinion gear, a tubular-shaped collar, a tubular-shaped nut, and an elastic member. The spool is configured to have a fishing line wound thereon when accompanied by rotation of a rotor. The pinion gear is disposed around the spool shaft and on which the rotor is non-rotatably mounted. The tubular-shaped collar is rotatably disposed on the spool shaft on an end side of the pinion gear in the axial direction of the pinion gear, and supports the spool shaft. The tubular-shaped nut is disposed to accommodate the collar and configured to screw onto the pinion gear. The elastic member is disposed between an outer peripheral surface of the collar and an inner peripheral surface of the nut.

Various embodiments provide a fishing reel having a light-weight, compact and easy-to-assemble magnetic seal mechanism which allows greater freedom in material selection of the rotating member. A fishing reel according to one embodiment comprises a rotating body rotatably supported via a ball bearing and a magnetic seal mechanism for sealing the ball bearing. In one aspect, the magnetic seal mechanism comprises a magnet disposed in parallel with either a magnetic inner or outer ring of the ball bearing, and magnetic fluid disposed between the magnet and said inner or outer ring, magnetic fluid being retained by a magnetic circuit formed therebetween to seal space defined between the magnet and said inner or outer ring.

A fishing spinning reel includes a line roller supported by a bail support member, and a line slider that guides a fishing line to the roller. An external inclined surface is formed in a region where the roller is projected on an outer surface of the bail support member opposite a side to which the roller is attached. When a vertical plane including a central axis of a rotor is a first reference plane and a plane including a central axis of the roller is the second, the external inclined surface is inclined from a proximal end side of the bail support member toward a distal end side to approach an inner surface side of the member when viewed in a direction orthogonal to the second reference plane in a state where the member is disposed so the first and second reference planes are in a parallel positional relationship.

A rotor for a spinning reel is configured to rotate about a spool shaft, and includes a tubular portion and a plate-shaped portion. The tubular portion is disposed away from the spool shaft at a predetermined interval. The plate-shaped portion includes a radially outer part and a radially inner part. The radially outer part is integrated with an inner peripheral part of the tubular portion. The radially inner part extends from the radially outer part toward the spool shaft. The radially outer part has a smaller thickness than at least a part of the radially inner part.

A waterproof rotor drive unit structure includes a driveshaft that rotates a rotor, a reel body, a housing member, and a lid member that supports a pinion gear so as to he rotatable around a rotational axis of the driveshaft. A first annular projection is disposed on an outer peripheral end of a rotor-facing surface of the lid member, the first projection protruding toward the rotor entirely around the rotational axis. Second and third annular projections are disposed on an inner peripheral wall of the rotor at a distance from the first annular projection in the radial direction, the second and third projections protruding toward the lid member entirely around the rotational axis. The axial gap between the distal end of the first annular projection and the inner peripheral wall is less than or equal to the axial direction dimensions of the second and third annular projections.
