Label stacking machine and method
A method of making a pad of labels comprises: printing display information on a top surface of a substrate; affixing a first layer of lamination material to a bottom surface of the substrate; affixing a second layer of lamination material to the top surface of the substrate, the second layer of lamination material having a release coating applied to a top surface thereof; applying an adhesive strip to a bottom surface of the first layer of lamination material, the adhesive strip being covered by a liner material; cutting the substrate having first and second layers of lamination material affixed into at least one label; removing the liner material to expose the adhesive strip after cutting the substrate into at least one label; and arranging the labels into a pad of labels.
Record Making System
The invention provides an improved record making system, the system having a puck former having an outlet, the puck former being movable between an automatic position and a semi-automatic position and adapted to periodically produce a puck and to deliver the puck to the outlet. The system further has a record former having a puck receiver, the record former adapted, upon delivery of the puck to the puck receiver, to automatically produce a record. The record former is positioned relative to the puck former and adapted such that, when the puck former is in the automatic position, the outlet of the puck former is coterminous with the puck receiver of the record former. When the puck former is in the semi-automatic position, the puck receiver is accessible by an operator to permit manual puck feeding.

METHOD FOR TRANSPORTING A BLISTER STRIP OF OPHTHALMIC LENSES INTO AN AUTOCLAVE MAGAZINE
A method for transporting a blister strip of ophthalmic lenses: only one single blister strip is provided at a start location and one magazine compartment of two magazine compartments contains n blister strips while the other magazine compartment contains n+1 blister strips, the single buster strip is picked up at the start location by one of the gripper units of a first gripper and is transported into that magazine compartment containing the n blister strips, by moving the first gripper to that magazine compartment containing the n blister strips and releasing the single blister strip from the first gripper into that magazine compartment, or by moving the first gripper to a hand-over station and releasing the single blister strip from the first gripper into the hand-over station, transporting the single blister strip from the hand-over station into that magazine compartment containing the n blister strips using a second gripper.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING, MEASURING AND POSITIONING PIECE GOODS
Apparatus for identifying, measuring and positioning piece goods with an increased throughput of piece goods are provided. An apparatus includes an optically transparent turntable having a support surface for piece goods which support surface extends in an X and Y direction of the apparatus, a first conveying device for arranging a piece good on the support surface of the turntable, a first optical reading device arranged below the turntable for detecting the dimensions of a piece good and an identifier, a second optical reading device for detecting the height of a piece good resting on the support surface and an identifier, a storage area for a plurality of piece goods which storage area is arranged downstream of the turntable, a second conveying device with a gripping device for piece goods, wherein the gripping device is movable over the storage area, at least in an X and Y direction, in such a way that piece goods can be arranged side by side in the storage area in the X and/or Y direction. Methods for identifying, measuring and positioning piece goods are also provided.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR STACKING CARD-LIKE DATA CARRIERS
The invention relates to a device and a method for stacking card-like data carriers. The device comprises (i) a conveying device for transporting individual card-like data carriers downstream along a conveying path and (ii) a stacking unit for selectively transferring and stacking card-like data carriers conveyed along the conveying path. The conveying device is arranged to convey the card-like data carriers in such a way that they are fixed to it in a hanging mode of transport. The stacking unit is arranged to selectively release certain ones of the card-like data carriers conveyed along the conveying device from the latter in order to transfer them directly—i. e. in particular without intermediate processing, intermediate transport or intermediate storage—into a card magazine and to stack them therein when the card magazine is arranged in a stacking area at a stacking position which, in relation to the direction of gravity, is situated below the conveying path.
Robotic system with object identification and handling mechanism and method of operation thereof
A robotic system includes: a control unit configured to: receive an object set including one or more object entries, wherein: the object entries correspond to source objects of an object source, each of the object entries are described by one or more object entry properties; receive sensor information representing one or more detectable object properties for detectable source objects of the object source; calculate an object match probability between the detectable source objects and the object entries based on a property correlation between the detectable object properties of the detectable source objects and the object entry properties of the object entries; generate an object identity approximation for each of the detectable source objects based on a comparison between the object match probability for each of the detectable source objects corresponding to a particular instance of the object entries; select a target object from the detectable source objects; generate an object handling strategy, for implementation by an object handling unit, to transfer the target object from the object source based on the object entry properties of the object entries corresponding to the object identity approximation; update the object set to indicate that the target object corresponding to a specific instance of the object entries has been removed from the object source; and a storage unit 204, coupled to the control unit, configured to store the object set.
